The Diner

Our meal at the Diner was fabulous tonight. We expected the Diner to be packed on New Years eve but we had no wait and amazing service.

When the server told us the specials for the evening I was amazed they were trying something so elegant. It was the surf and turf that had a sous vide steak with scallops with a pomegranate sauce and honey glazed carrots.
The scallops were too delicate for the pomegranate sauce and unfortunately over powered it, however there was not a lot of the sauce and it was very easy to avoid. The scallops themselves were prepared to perfection, soft and delicate. The steak was amazing, the texture was perfect the seasoning was to die for, it had a beef sauce under it that was extremely well balanced. The carrots were perfect and the mash was velvety and delicious. A nearly perfect meal, I could eat that everyday.
I don't normally do desert but the server offers us bannana bread, once again I thought this was a strange offering but seeing how well the kitchen handled the main course I had to see what this bannana bread was about and I was not disappointed. A pillowy slice of bannana bread under vanilla ice cream with a caramel drizzle that was amazing. I feel like it could have benefited from something tart to cut into the three layers of sweet but overall an amazing dish.
Our server was amazing, she immediately complemented my wife's shirt and this made my wife very happy. I love it when she is beaming like that. The server was very friendly, joked with my wife. She always had more water as soon as I finished my water and knew the menu very well.
The resteraunt was hospital clean, the table were arranged beautifully.

Overall I cannot say enough great things about our experience tonight, the food, service, cleanliness and overall vibe was wonderful. I am looking forward to our next visit.

We had the best waitress!! Very smart, quick wit, and remembered everything! We enjoyed some fun bantering.
Food was as excellent as the service! We'll definitely be back! (I don't think my sister would let me take her anywhere else if I tried next time she's in town. 😛)

I was so happy to come here during the Meltdown with the grilled cheese. It was so good. The pulled pork and fries are amazing! Nice staff too.

Friendly welcoming staff. I love the diner. The Tater tots are the best, so crispy. Everything on their menu is delicious. All homemade food and jam. You can't go wrong. It's a must go.

I stopped in for the second time yesterday. I ended up sitting next to the woman who waited on us the first time. I asked her about her tattoo because it reminded me of my favorite album cover. Anyway, she was so kind and I could also tell that she is allowing anyone to treat her or her co-workers badly. This time I sat down next to her, I think she was on a breakfast break. Someone called her Mom so I think she must be the manager or owner. Anyway I really like everyone there. The food is amazing! Both times my eggs were cooked PERFECTLY. The rest of the food is perfection. I ended up ordering a dozen biscuits for I breakfast I am providing for friends later this month because nobody makes them better. Thank you to The Diner for being the best of the best!

One of my favorite breakfast spots in Mac. The place is always clean, organized, and a nice bright open building. The staff are very friendly and do an amazing job at being attentive and keeping coffee in the cup. My coffee cup has never ran out. The portions are very generous and the flavors are on point. Highly recommend but get there early or you will be waiting a while.

This place is the real deal. Family owned and operated with scratch made food. Small, with only 9 or 10 tables, it's not uncommon to see a line waiting outside. Want to wait in your car? They will page you when your table is ready. Clean and inviting, the space is modern, but it's really about the food... SCRATCH MADE. Scratch made biscuits, sausage gravy, hollandaise, corned beef and pastrami made in house for their breakfast hash. They even smoked the tomatoes for their shrimp and grits special. Crazy. Who does this? They do. They take pride in what they serve and how they serve it. Hospitality with efficiency and a smile. Add that to great coffee... The Diner is simply the best breakfast in the area.

Preface: My friends and I were heading to Depoe Bay when we wanted to stop for breakfast. We were slightly worried as we wanted something cheaper before we hit the beach. This Diner did NOT disappoint!

Product and Service: 5/5
Service was great! They checked in enough, filled out water, but not over bearing. The food is absolutely amazing; it isn't your standard diner. I thought I would be getting Shari's or Dennys quality but I was absolutely wrong.

Value: 4/5
Initially, I thought it was expensive. However, as this review is about value, I believe the service and food matched up to the price. My eggs benedict was $14.

Took approximately 15 min for 4, well-cooked meals to be delivered.

I'll update this review if anything new presents itself. However, based on my experience, I'll be visiting this location every time I pass by. Definitely worth a visit!

We came here for lunch after visiting the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum. With a name like “The Diner”, I was almost expecting something in a modified Airstream instead of a nicely appointed, standalone brick and mortar building. The place was quite full (most appeared to be locals–always a good sign), but we were seated quickly. Fresh ingredients, delicious food, and very friendly service made for an excellent lunch, which would have been very worthwhile even if the location was not as convenient as it was. Highly recommend.

Our family loves The Diner! The staff are so wonderful, and the food is always incredible and SO reasonably priced. It's our favorite place to eat in McMinnville for breakfast. And the homemade baked goods are always delicious.
