I've been to the Carmel Rd location three times. The food is great but the coffee has always been lukewarm even before my adding milk. If i go back, I will return the coffee.

I visit this location of Amelie"s about once a month. Having lived in Bordeaux some years ago as an expatriot, I miss the French pasteries from time to time, and Amelie's satisfies that longing. On this visit, my order was a few specialties for take home which included the plain croissants (authentic in my view!), eclairs, lemon macarons, and a chocolate mousse (fluffy and tastful).
Ordering has been streamlined - on reaching the head of the line, there is an associate there at all times to take your order at left of the counter. If you are ordering pastries to go, another associate works with you to complete your order.
The wait was short at 5 min considering there were 12 people in line and it was a busy Sunday. Service was friendly and attentive.
In a future visit, plans are to dine here which can be indoors or on the covered patio on the right side of the cafe.

3rd time i have gone in and been disappointed. 1st time the case was barely full of any food in the afternoon and sandwich was cold. 2nd time waited 45 minutes for an unheated baguette, full kitchen staff and only 6 customers in the store at the time until a manager noticed that we had been waiting for a long time. And 3rd time this morning where i asked 3 girls at the registers if they could break big bills and was told yes, they took the money and then i had to wait 15 for a manager to get change and then was told by the manager that they dont accept big bills until after lunchtime which doesnt cater to early bird customers. Unfortunately i wanted to make this a daily stop in the mornings but now i will not be stopping in at the location again.

A delightful cafè of the French persuasion. All the tables have unique designs and patterns, and create the perfect space to enjoy a cup of coffee with your friends. The food is delicious.

Delicious food, pastry and coffee. I love the atmosphere too. What a cute little place. The cotton candy macaron is super yummy.
