Amelie’s French bakery, this is one of the most popular bakery in Charlotte, every time I come here always a line, my favorite is the macaroons! Not too sweet and very soft. Love the spacious seating area. Bring a friend and enjoy your French style morning!

This was our first time visiting. We enjoyed the ambiance of the establishment and the pastries, for the most part. The petit strawberry shortcake was delicious, but the cinnamon buns were extremely dry and we could not eat them. We will try microwaving later on. Thank you!

I've always liked this Amelie's uptown and this location. We ordered macaroons, almond cake thing, coconut macaroons as well. I liked em but they did taste a bit dry from the inside. I liked the assorted chandeliers and the decor of this French bakery. They make stuff in house.

They were out of about 75% of their Bakery items by 1:00pm on a Sunday. Their explanation was "we no longer have a baker at this location so this is all we can offer". The sandwiches we ordered were great, the $50 cake we pre-ordered and picked up was not. It looked fantastic until we cut into it, and then the whole thing started crumbling to pieces. The "buttercream" frosting was weird and cracked into pieces when we tried to cut it. We had a baker in the family that said they must have made the cake earlier in the week and frozen it (not surprising since they don't have a baker anymore). Not what I'd expect for $50. We won't be back to this location; hopefully they haven't let their other location fall apart like this one.

This is a great café! The mocha latte was perfect. It seems they may be using a bakery chocolate. It had a velvety smooth mouth feel and stayed mixed to the end. Not too sweet and it let the coffee shine through. The macrons are really tasty with a variety of flavors. A slightly resistant outer crust with a delightful soft chew to the interior. And the cream is delicious. Not inexpensive by any means, but true to the old saying, "you get what you pay for." Highly recommended!

The service at this location is OK. The food is consistent with the other locations. However, it can get crowded which slows down things a bit. They run out of things quickly but they don't tell you until after you've paid & the manager (short man) isn't very accommodating because of this issue...

I was pleasantly surprised that Amelie's actually has a good chicken spinach sandwich that had goat cheese and some sort of basil pesto spread on it. However, overall I feel the quality of the desserts have gone down. Meaning, what's not pictured is a lemon raspberry tart because when I cut into it, it was the consistency of Yellow Grits... Not smooth at all. Therefore, I gave it back and although they admitted it shouldn't be that way they didn't have any fresh ones to swap with because that whole entire batch came from the main store. The soup that came with the sandwich had a decent flavor but it was very mushy, definitely overcooked!

If you’re looking for a nice customer service experience DON’T GO TO THIS LOCATION!
I was so hyped to visit this Amelie’s and came in (most tables were dirty with previous customers plates and drinks - see photos) also I got an iced coffee and three desserts. The iced coffee was watered down filled with milk and sugar. I asked to exchange with hot coffee and they refused. How cheap can you be to refuse to exchange a cup or hot tea? And they give you a look like you’re stealing from them! Ugh I just left this horrible customer service experience place for a so many different ones. Save your self the trip and check out Night swim coffee or Not Just Coffee or Undercurrent Coffee or summit coffee. There’s so many places to try in the Charlotte area

On the way back to Soda City, my beautiful Daughter in Law asked if there were any French Bakeries nearby. (She speaks fluent French) So I whooped out my brain, iPhone, and did an extensive research. I came up with Amélies French Bakery that had a location near us and several others in Charlotte. I GPS’d to their Carmel location and put the emergency blinkers on as I waited outside while the crew were inside filling up boxes. When they came, I took pictures that looked pretty good. Little did I know my tongue hitting my head may cause a concussion when I took a taste of the first sample and I thought I was in France as they were so good!!! If you are looking for sickening sweet desserts, this is not for you. If you like European sweetness, Soda City can’t compete!!! I knew something was up as I saw so many people coming out with boxes!!! The only error was my Son told them not to torch the top of his cream brûlée. He said he wouldn’t turn it down again.
