Seabiscuit Cafe

We stopped in to have a light lunch. We ordered the cup of whitefish chowder with the whitefish dip. The chowder was amazing. The dip was also amazing. It was a pate with Flatbread and crackers. Our server was so nice, and we enjoyed chatting with her and learning more about the island. With so many choices on the island, we are glad we stopped here.

Our dinner was satisfactory. I had fried whitefish with coleslaw and fries, my dinner partner had a cup of whitefish chowder and strawberry salad. My whitefish was crispy outside and tender inside. Our server Nick was pleasant, attentive and efficient. The only complaint was that the place was LOUD. There's a partition between the bar and the dining area. Four young women were standing right in front of our table in the dining area talking from the top of their lungs. They paid no attention to servers and customers having to squeeze between them and the table to pass. On top of loud and rowdy customers, they played loud music. It makes talking virtually impossible. You have been warned.

The Seabiscuit Cafe offers a simple and delicious menu with a full bar. Their service is very friendly and are great with making recommendations or alterations to menu items. The wall is lined with a large mirror, so nobody misses out on any of the action. The bar is lively and the movie Seabiscuit plays on a loop.

Love the ambiance of this place - really great decor and friendly staff. Food was really good too... the burgers had a really nice flavor to them and the hot fudge sundae is really tasty for dessert.

We arrived to a Mackinac Island in the evening and were hangry. A pleasant surprise was Seabiscuit. We were greeted by Hannah, the hostess who talked through the vegan and veggie options. Our server, Ashfield, was amazing! She had the chef come out and make sure our food was just right, and it was. A delicious GF and vegan meal. Would love to see more options on the menu itself, but many options available with modifications.

Major shout out to the staff for accommodating my family when we arrived about 15 minutes before the kitchen closed. We ordered quickly and everything was so delicious! Would absolutely come back at an earlier hour for amazing service and food!

Great seafood! Expensive, but worth it. The fish was out of this world! Fish dip was awesome as well. Friendly staff, cool environment

A little pricey - normal for the area - but tasty. I had the whitefish and chips, and my wife had the hot chicken. Service was excellent, staff attentive and pleasant. Atmosphere wasn't too loud, but they were full-up. Two meals, two drinks a little over $35 a person.

Stopped in for lunch when I first arrived on the island and enjoyed the company of a cool bartender, had a beer and a white fish Reuben. You read that right. It was every bit as good as it sounds. Worth the stop!

Best meal of the trip!! Was looking for somewhere to eat on Sunday night around 9pm and most places had already closed their kitchens. We stumbled upon this restaurant and it did not disappoint. We had the white fish dinner and Cajun pasta and both were so delicious. Must do if you’re looking for a nice restaurant or just to have an amazing meal.
