Seabiscuit Cafe

Food is good. Whitefish is caught locally and brought in daily right behind restaurant.
Good food and cocktail selection.
Not a big place, but accommodating.
Historically significant establishment.

The service was the only thing good about our lunch experience. I ordered the whitefish which turned out to be a huge mistake. It literally tasted ROTTEN. To their credit they did take it back and bring me the perch tacos, but there was so little perch for the $$$$ paid. I know it was during tourist season, but $60 for lunch is gouging the public for what you get!

Seabiscuit is a charming restaurant on Mackinac Island. We did have to wait 20 minutes to get a table, but the wait was worth it. The food was great, modestly priced. The strawberry -lemon bar for dessert was yummy. Excellent place.

Had dinner at Seabiscuit and was unimpressed. The white fish chowder was better at Millie's. Wife had the grits with garlic shrimp, flavor was good but shrimp seemed to have been frozen. Seabiscuit is a smaller restaurant and had no system to track who was waiting for a table which caused confusion. No water view. I would go back to Pink Pony instead.

We were so excited when we saw Seabiscuit cafe .We are huge fans of the movie and horse history as well. It's amazing how wait stuff can ruin your experience. Bearded waiter ( he never introduced himself) started us not offering table or asking any questions. We asked for table bartender lady stepped in and gave us table. Unfortunately for us he was our waiter. I can write all day what went wrong with this no manners waiter. Half way through our food we asked for paycheck and left. Rude,obnoxious, no desire to help,spill drinks, wrong drinks . I told him to send someone else this turned into argument which led us leaving. We still think it's a nice place but get your stuff under control.

We shared the painted pony macaroni, chicken wings and the whitefish and chips. It was pretty good and nice size portion. The waitress was nice and attentive. We had a good time.

The service was excellent and so was the food. More surprising was how delicious their drinks were. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

They have an excellent drink selection and great food. They also have a late night menu if you're looking for a snack after hours. This is a great place to have a drink with friends and a meal while you're at it!

The deep fried mac n cheese balls are fantastic, strawberry and goat cheese salad was fresh, and their version of a turkey and ham club sandwich was huge. The kids chicken nuggets was enough for 2 littles. My daughter finished her whole burger. No complaints other than they forgot to put the mayo sauce on the side of the sandwich for my wife. Great food, ok service.

Great!!! Wonderful atmosphere and great service. Chris the bartender was very pleasant. Fried Mac and cheese balls were delicious. Definitely will come again!
