Seabiscuit Cafe

Had the white fish and chips, others had gyros and fish tacos, all were excellent. Definitely will go back.

I have somewhat mixed feelings about eating at Seabiscuit.
On one hand, the dining experience was quite good; I ordered the fish and chips, and they were really excellent. Service was also reasonably fast and attentive.

On the other hand, I ordered that single entrée and drank water, and my tab was $30. Now, of course everything on the Island is pretty expensive, and the food was very good, so I wouldn't say that Seabiscuit is *inordinately* costly, but it was a little rich for my blood.

My husband and our 2 young children came here to eat. It started out well. We were able to be seated right away and our waitress seemed friendly and helpful. We placed our order and this is where it took a turn for the worse. After literally about 45 minutes of waiting (it’s obviously to be expected of a busy place in a tourist area. And we are generally patient people at restaurants) the waitress finally came to our table for the first time since taking our order and asked if she had taken our order yet. We were aghast, but said yes and explained what we had ordered. She said she was going to check on it. She came back and said they were preparing it now. We said don’t bother and left. We couldn’t wait to feed our children any longer.

Very quick to get in and out!! Awesome food and Great service!! Isabel was a very good waitress. Would come back again 👍

How cool is this place, trifecta of good beer delicious food, and amazing horse decor. Small nook on the island worth a stop for pint or two. Seabiscuit for the Win!

A bunch of us were walking on Mackinac island unsure of where to eat. This lady standing at the door of Seabiscuit cafe not only showed us the menu but also personalized them with her recommendations. We decided to go in, no waiting which was surprising for a Sunday in Spring.

I ordered whitefish and chips and LOVED it! I had them for the first time, and will come again with my husband to this place next time I am on Mackinac island!

Service was really good and the drinks were great! But we came here because we heard they had really good vegan options, and were a little disappointed. The black bean burger was bland and they got rid of the tofu Bahn mi we’d heard was amazing. Please bring it back! Fried cauliflower was delicious

Spent a day on Mackinac Island on July 1 and ate at Seabiscuit Cafe. Not sure why it's named that since there is no Mackinac Island correlation that I know of. I am a fan of Seabiscuit and horse racing in general so we'll go with that. Anyway, the decor is amazing. Lots of wood and furnishings related to racing. Very fun place. We sat in a booth in the corner by the bar and by the front windows. Great seat. Ordered Carnitas Nachos and they were great. Pulled pork and just piled on toppings. SO good. Server was great. Friendly guy from Florida working the summer so that was interesting talking to him a bit. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Food was good. We had about a 10 minute wait. Drinks and food came out in a timely manner considering how busy they were. The manmosa was delicious as was the peanut butter russian drink (it had fudge in it). Eggs benedict were good. Prices were comparable to other restaurants of its caliber. Our server was excellent!! Kept the coffee flowing and was able to answer our tourist questions without hesitation. I recommend.

Friendly service in this small but packed restaurant. No outside seating. Deep fried Mac and Cheese balls were very good; Whitefish and Chips were meh - too fishy - I'll stick to cod. Prices are as expected on Mackinac Island - high. Make a reservation for lunch online before you get to the island because lunchtime in the summers are nuts.
