Wheatfields Bakery Cafe

Nice bakery in Lawrence. One block away from the main restaurant street, but still super busy. They offer good selection of coffee and some light lunch options. Lots of locals eat here. People are very friendly. The service is a little bit slow but that was because of the popularity. Highly recommend.

Out of the 5 or so times our family has visited, we’ve always been impressed with Wheatfield’s delicious food, solid service and consistency even during weekend rushes. Our favorite menu items are their biscuits & gravy, cinnamon rolls, and coffee. Love this place!

Excellent breakfast, especially the croissants! Found this place traveling through town driving cross country and glad we did… we were in desperate need of a good quick breakfast and proper coffee. Nice atmosphere, pleasant staff, and wheelchair accessible.

Wonderful Breads, unfortunately we have to drive 1 hour to get to your store in Lawrence.....would like to see a wheatfield breads store/ cafe open up in or near our area....We live in Blue Springs Mo...but Lees Summit Mo would be also a great location....Thanks

Fresh bread and fresh sandwiches are the way to go. They've got daily deals for bread and the sandwiches are all made fresh and sometimes with ingredients you might not expect! For picky eaters or those a bit afraid to try something fancier, the PB&J and grilled cheese are just as good as anything else on the menu. Usually pretty busy, so expect at least a little bit of a wait.

Something about Wheatfields is so nostalgic and warm. Their staff is kind and I’ve never had something on their menu that I didn’t like. I love their lunch sandwiches and I’m just waiting for an occasion to snag a couple pastries for an event. Be warned that everyone loves this place and you have to go early if you want something specific or it may be sold out!

Never have the biscuits and gravy left by the time we get there. Need to go earlier for sure. Great food always impressed with the food we do get...

Our family loves Wheatfields. We usually just get bread (so many delicious options), but when we've eaten a meal there, it's always wonderful. If I had to choose one sandwich to eat for the rest of my life, I'd choose their turkey and cranberry and I wouldn't ever miss other sandwiches. They make good coffee drinks and their pastries are way above average.

The staff are friendly and helpful, even when they're getting slammed. Their safety protocols are up to par as well. We actually ate in their dining room the other day (first time in months we've eaten out) and felt very safe.

I also really appreciate that Wheatfields donates bread to Just Food and to the veggie lunches at ECM on campus. Knowing they support our community makes their tasty, crusty, amazing bread that much more enjoyable.
