I've eaten here a few times for breakfast. I appreciate that the bakery line and cafe line are separate. I've had the French toast, which was gorgeous, and is now in competition with my other favorite, the biscuits and gravy. I think they put oregano in their sausage gravy. It's fantastic and unique to the location. Also the iced coffee is particularly good. I think it must be the quality of the coffee. My only very minor complaint is their isn't much seating so be prepared to carry your order out.

Never fails to impress. Food very good as usual and even though they were busy, the manager Amy (?) was very customer oriented. Excellent service.

Nice local bakery and Café. Homemade food, which is nice. I could feel the love put into the baking with my coconut macaroon.

It was a chilly day and my son and I walked down here from the library to get some hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls. It was so good and everyone was very nice. I think we just formed a new post-library tradition!

Their food, desserts, and baked goods are really good, and in my experience the staff there are always friendly. However, they sell out of things very quickly and I feel like every time I go in they’re sold out of half of their selection, and any time I stop by to get something specific they’re magically out (yet again). This coupled with the fact that some of their best items are specials they only make once a week means that getting a lot of what they make is very difficult. I guess if you don’t work and have nothing to do other than go to a bakery then it’s fine, but for people who work or are otherwise unable to just show up early to make sure they get what they want, it’s extremely inconvenient. You’d think if it consistently happens they’d just….make more of it? Or make some throughout the day, instead of only selling what was pre made? Like, that’s business 101; that’s literally how supply works. Imagine McDonald’s saying that they’re out of Big Macs at noon, so you’re just SOL until the next week. And they don’t appear to understand that you can, in fact, continue to bake products in the middle of the day.

You can have the best desserts and baked goods in the world, but if I can never buy it then it doesn’t really matter, does it?

We meet our friends there and we talk for hours. They live in Olathe which is East of Lawrence and we live in Topeka which is west of Lawrence. We are allowed to chat for a long time lol. Only complaint is they are kind of high on prices but they do make great sandwiches from fresh bakery items and also good soup from fresh vegetables.

Bakery items are very good. Ginger cookie is delish I asked for recipe, nope.
Last Friday I decided to eat lunch there. First time. I ordered the Rueben sandwich. I had to look really really hard to find any meat on it.
If you want a Rueben go to the Roost! It’s delish. When I pay $9 for a sandwich I expect it to be worthy of $9. Wheatfields was not, Roost was.

The chocolate mousse cake was phenomenal. The sandwiches were great as well.

The Chocolate Mousse Torte was TO DIE FOR! One of the best bday cakes I’ve ever had and it wasn’t too rich and heavy! Amazing! 🙌🏼
