Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort

Beautiful property that's very kid friendly. The staff also does an incredible job creating a great experience for the whole family.

My wife and I had our best dining experience in Maui here (better than Merriman's). The setting and food were fantastic. Service was professional and timely. The only downside is that the lagoon does not currently have fish in it (and I expected there would be fish). Our server, Larry, told us that they might be adding fish there again in the near future. Oh, and the restaurant is named after my favorite fish in Maui!

As of this post, the hotel was in the process of some construction but was never intrusive or disruptive. The hotel is magnificent but the furnishings, while exceptionally clean and comfortable, showed their age a bit.

That’s the only criticism I have of the hotel and they’re addressing it. Otherwise, it may be the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed at. It’s near the Four Seasons which is also gorgeous, but the layout of the Grand Wailea is unmatched. It essentially hugs the beach and spills right out onto it. It is stunning.

That’s the property. The staff absolutely lives up to the hotel’s beauty. I’ve never had such a warm and enjoyable experience with every single employee I had contact with. I had an absolutely wonderful experience and can’t wait to return.

Overall a really nice resort. The food was excellent as well as the service(everyone was super nice and attentive). The only downside was the rooms in the Wailea wing(while clean/functional) were very basic, having stayed in other Waldorf and Ritz properties I expected the room to be nicer and upscale(especially the shower).
The construction going on wasn’t distracting but it was apparent that half the property isn’t being used.

WOW oh WOW!!! This is a special place!
We went to most of the resort restaurants on our holiday in Wailea this month (Oct.2022) and this one EASILY takes the cake! It's beautiful, from the friendly valet guys, the magical garden walk, the stunning restaurant architecture, very sweet and friendly hostess ... right to the end. Our waiter and the other waitstaff were incredible, drinks were delicious prompt, food was incredible and well timed, and the view ... my god! Incredible! The hostess even asked and advised the entire team of my husbands peanut allergy. It wasn't ever an awkward conversation.
Our waited asked if we were celebrating anything and we admitted it was our Anniversary ... only to then treat us to a complementary dessert with a chocolate decoration wishing us a happy anniversary.
We were there with our 2 yr old and never once did I feel like he was an inconvenience. He was equally as welcomed in this fine dining restaurant as we were. They even had healthy kids food, which he loved!
Humu Humu was a highlight of our trip. I'd HIGHLY recommend this place.

Beautiful resort with all of the amenities! Wonderful pools (silly only and family friendly). Beautiful white sand beach. Close to restaurants in Kihei. 30 min to Lahaina and airport. Gorgeous sunsets!

Our room was a nice ocean view. The problem was it was as far away from the lobby as you could possibly get They did not give us a choice or warn us how far it would be I have knee issues so it was a problem The third time we walked from the lobby to the room I counted my steps It was 430 steps which is ALOT Made it so we did not go back and forth to the pool or facilities often The first night there we went down to the lobby bar to meet friends We planned on having a light dinner but they only served sushi My husband cannot eat fish, so there was nothing for him to order A bit more variety would be helpful
We found most of the staff very friendly. The hotel itself is beautiful but Not sure we would come back

Lots of construction going on. It was pretty noisy. Room was okay. I was kicked out of the fitness center for not having it closed toe shoes. I understand it might be a liability issue but ive never once been tossed out of a hotel gym for that. There were barely any free weights so I'm not sure. If you're a five-star hotel and you're going to require something, you better make sure you have them ready to loan or be ready to solve the problem somehow... have me sign a waiver.. I dont know, something. The pool area was very nice but overall, there are better choices on the island for resorts.

If you aren't impressed with this resort, there is something wrong with you. It is so over the top amazing I can't even say. Beautiful landscaping, rooms, shops, beach, pool. All of it is astoundingly beautiful and drips with luxury. I have stayed there twice and felt like I was royalty. Just walk through it if you are staying on Maui.

Amazing hotel! Everything was perfect. Wonderful staff, amazing location, beautiful decor. It was a dream.
