Extraordinary Service, and loved the Rooms update for 2023 Trip. Pool staff amazingly helpful and went above and beyond. would recommend and definitely come back. TY

Huge disappointment for my honeymoon . The grounds outside were stunning but for the price we paid for the room was a huge downgrade . I was completely shocked as soon as we opened the door I was really expecting a 5 star hotel room I will attach picture to show it .

The services and amenities have been getting worse and worse as time goes on while prices go up and up. The facilities are becoming more and more worn and staff show no drive to repair existing parts of a hotel, only wishing to expand further.

Came 3 years ago and loved it. Since then it’s fallen on some hard times, not sure when Hilton acquired it. The rate for our partial ocean view Queen was $1400/night but with Hilton Gold and a convention discount we paid about $550/night for off season (Jan 2023).
It feels worth $400-500/night if you book the ocean view basic room.
Pros: beautiful beach on Maui, 3 restaurants often w live acoustic entertainment, retro luxury, small water park, most rooms have balconies, great pool w sand “beach” for kids, provides 2 chairs and umbrella on beach (well, $50 resort fee), coi ponds for kids, adult pool area.
Cons: waterpark has a bunch of shut down slides (needs a renovation), spa and several parts of the resort under current renovations (think: bababababa construction), we asked for a King and got a double Queen, everything on the property costs a lot ($24 Mai Tai w tip, $15 cold brew coffee, $150 for basic dinner w a drink and couple entrees), housekeeping doesn’t seem to come unless you specifically request it (???), annoying large typically unused cabanas near pool areas, service feels more 4 star than 5, 2 restaurants closed for construction.
I’d suggest either lowering prices or improving quality, specifically w prices of extras, finish renovations especially basic stuff like paint slides, ensure housekeeping happens, up service to 5 star levels, open closed restaurants.

Hotel was under construction for the second year in a row. Very Loud during our stay. Restaurant at pool "not in service and under construction" Told they are about to demo and close other restaurant. Many areas boarded up. Front desk unable to accommodate a room change even though they were not at capacity" Lobby bar flooded during a brief rain. Place is going down hill. I would choose the Four Seasons next door.

We arrived at the hotel after a long day of flight delays. Unfortunately the check-in experience is terrible. We hoped to be warmly welcomed as Diamond member to celebrate anniversary here. The front desk lady Yhwle was originally seems nice, but completely changed her attitude after realizing we are not trying to bribe her when handing in the id. Per Hilton rules, we should be upgraded to the best available room when checking in. And we checked both in the app and website that when we do the check in there are plenty of unoccupied deluxe ocean view rooms available. But Yhwle insisted that there is nothing better than terrace view in her computer. And later she unintentionally changed her word that she had a garden view. She also hinted that we could pay her something to get a better room. Clearly she was not honest with us and trying to fool us. When we stayed at Hyatt earlier the week, we received great welcome, an upgrade to oceanfront and some champagne in the room. Now I see the clear difference between Hilton and Hyatt, and that’s unfortunately not in favor of Hilton. Not sure if it is the common way the hotel treat Diamond members or that’s a special case. But that’s certainly not cool. I don't really care that much whether we are upgraded or not and I totally understand if the hotel is indeed sold out. But what I cannot tolerate is being treated as a fool by the lies, and the front desk lady Yhwle just ignore all the clearly stated benefits for elite members and only use her power to make money. Also I really don’t understand what’s the hotel’s point of sending out an email before our arrival to check if we are staying for any special occasions, and then just ignoring it and do nothing about it. It is WORSE than even not asking. Choosing to stay at Grand Wailea is indeed the very lowlight of our whole Hawaii trip for special occasion celebration. If there is no preparation for welcoming us, what’s the point of sending email asking for our purpose of visit in advance? I am very disappointed and upset to experience this kind of Hilton service. The room itself was also not well maintained. A lot of worn out and even the bed stand’s leather is broken. And there were ants found in the bathroom. The Wi-Fi was super unstable and just went on and off every 2-3 minutes. The construction noises were also very annoying and lasted the whole day time from early morning to late afternoon. Overall it is not what we expected for a Waldorf resort and it’s a total disappointment to stay at here for vacation. It certainly negatively affected our mood to experience this kind of service as Hilton Diamond members.

Huge hotel with good service and facilities. Kid friendly pools and lots of space so it doesn't feel crowded. Thumbs up for providing a filtered water refill service.

Diamond Member Status is now Worthless at Hilton Waldorf Astoria Grand Wailea Maui. This property was sold to Blackstone for 1 billion. So, the property was under total renovation. If you have been here in the past as a Hilton Diamond Status Member, you have experienced all of the pampering and upgrades including the Naupua Club. Now that Blackstone owns the property the Diamond Status; as I found out this week, and if you reserves your stay with points that you earned, be ready for a rude and condescending welcome at the front counter if you get Michelle. She will
Tell real quick little she values the Diamond Status, and if you want to be upgraded to the Nuapua Club be ready to pay $400 per now. No more free upgrades. Most all of the pool chairs and umbrellas have been replaced by ugly box cabanas that very expensive. $20 cocktails, $10 beers, $22 cheeseburgers, $300 for dinner on property, Blackstone has turn Hilton Waldorf Astoria Grand Wailea into a money grab, three circus. I will not be going back. With all of the hotel options on the island, I don’t need to stay here again, and won’t.

I have been to this place & is the finest hotel facility I have ever stayed at. Ocean view room, food was great & especially the Kona coffee.

Great location, though the entrance could be a bit more obvious. It’s clearly an aging hotel that is currently undergoing a huge multi-year renovation. The construction was not obtrusive but I am bummed I missed the main bar in the middle (turtle head). I am sure it will be amazing once finished.
Major highlights: luau. Very cool and entertaining. Their beach was very clean as well.
My only major complaint, which did affect our visit, is the walls were very thin. You could hear regular conversation through the connecting doors and very easily hear foot steps above us. A hotel of this quality should not have these issues. As I said in the beginning, an aging hotel that needs updating, which I am happy they are doing. The price was definitely higher than we would have liked for the quality of the hotel rooms.
Would I go back? Yes….AFTER the renovation is complete.
Took a start off for quality:price ratio.
