My husband and I stopped by for breakfast before our whale watching tour and the food was amazing! My husband had salmon pate on bread with capers and I wish we could've gone back the next day for more. There were also a lot of cute souvenirs in the shop.

It's a little bit pricey for a breakfast place. But there are not many alternatives in Seward. This is still a good place to dine in.

Just discovered this place in Seward and absolutely love it. The mosquito mama dip is so good.

Great ambiance, great food! Huge fan of the beluga coffee drink and the blueberry brie jalapeño burger

Super cute place!!! The food is also delicious.

The ambience is 5 stars. The service is 2 stars, and the pricing is 1 star. We didn't mind waiting for a table upstairs and were seated within the 20 minute time frame quoted. Beware, however, that the menu is *extremely* overpriced. The fish sandwich was $22 by itself (I didn't even see sides mentioned). It was good, but not worth $22. The service was also lackluster - our server never checked on us. It's a cozy spot but I would only recommend coming here for the drinks because those are reasonably priced. Otherwise, go check out the other restaurants in Seward. Plenty to choose from that won't run away with your wallet.

Unassuming from the front & built in an old boat repair shop, Mermaid Grotto offers more than meets the eye. The cafe downstairs has incredible ambiance, but the upstairs is absolutely stunning. Offering views of the boats & an on theme adorable bar, you would think people came for the atmosphere. However, the food was amazing. We ate the breakfast burrito, breakfast sandwich & halibut sandwich, all of which were incredible. Not to mention, the staff was very nice & helpful. Our waitress (can’t remember her name) was so sweet & offered some history on the building. Can’t post pictures of the food because we ate it so fast! Overall a must stop in Seward for breakfast, brunch or lunch.

Awesome place! Food and service were impeccable. Will be back during our next trip!

This was the first place in Seward we were able to be seated for a meal without a 45 minute+ wait after 2 days of trying to eat out. They seated us right away and service was great throughout our lunch, regularly checked in to let us know when food was coming. Everything was delicious, I had the fish tacos and my husband had the halibut sandwich which was to die for. Very glad we stopped in!

Stopped in for lunch on advice from a local. The rice bowl is great and so was the fish sandwich. Very cool atmosphere and great view .
