Nice place for a light breakfast. Quick service. Limited seating. Food was good and came out hot and fresh.

I rarely leave negative reviews but after awhile it’s important to inform the locals of things to avoid. We moved to Old Town North 6 months ago for the mom and pap charm. Something on the surface Extra Perks exhibits. However we’ve now order directly from their website as the owner has expressedly requested and each time our order is poorly made and extremely late. We ordered breakfast over an hour ago and we’re now just served for take out. Really? Come on guys, we walked over and we’re told ten minutes, we can back and waited another twenty after ten minutes. Unacceptable - this is not the first time. There are plenty diner like options in the neighborhood and businesses that genuinely respect and appreciate the neighborhood’s support. I am very disappointed to not recommend Extra Perks. A refund and redo are the minimum you all can do to improve this now repeated customer experience. Two thumbs down

By other reviews, it seems this place used to be good. It is no longer very good.
The service is very friendly. It has a nice atmosphere. However, the food is less than average. For bacon sandwiches they Rob you, putting as little bacon as possible. The Biscotti's are hard enough to cut a diamond and the coffee is weak as Mike rat milk (trust me). The mocha lacks much flavor and texture as well. Pancakes are dry.

I absolutely loved this place. My friends and I stayed in Old Town Alexandria for 2 nights and each morning we went here for breakfast. We all loved it. The British inspired food items are excellent and the coffee is the best I've ever had. Not to mention the owner and staff were impressively friendly.

great food with great prices. i got the breakfast combo with eggs bacon and substituted the waffles for pancakes. pancakes were light and fluffy and topped with caramelized apple, blueberry, and powdered sugar. very good food with good service. prices are very good as well. definitely recommend for a quick breakfast.

Found this brilliant cafe on a whim. Service is polite and very attentive. Food was a excellent cafe tidbits- recommend the mozzarella salad with added salmon for a light bite. English breakfast was on point, don’t forget to add the baked beans.
Great time/food thank you for the experience!

Looking for breakfast, we found this place in early August on a two-day trip to Old Town Alexandria. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The coffee was superb. The food was spot on. We loved it so much that we came back the next day. Everything was equally as good as it was the first day.

Just a little shop run by a husband/wife Brit-Thai team. Basic, simple, good food, the formula works well.
DECOR Quirky-comfortable. Cafe meets deli meets yard sale. We often go on Sunday when they divide the table area into "self-service" and "full-service," a nice touch for a little shop. No high-end here, but the heavy use of the place does get good care.
SERVICE Super-nice people. The British fellow always has a funny quip about something, and seems genuinely interested in his restaurant. Servers are quiet and attentive.
FOOD Again not high-end, nor at all inventive, but you can get American-style or (true) British-style breakfasts, plus a smattering of other typical cafe fare. What is important here, however, is that we often order in a way that is too challenging for careless line cooks. One eggs over hard and one eggs over easy gets screwed up an unbelievable number of times, but not only does Extra Perks get it right but the food is always beautifully prepared and delicious. They clearly seem to care.

My husband and I found this little place on Google and decided to try it out for breakfast. It's a quaint little place with a diner type atmosphere. The food according to my husband is "the best breakfast I've had in a long time" and I second that thought. The food was not overly greasy and tasted fresh. Would definitely stop by this place again if I was in the area!

This place is great! I love their breakfast and their super fast and friendly! My only problem and it’s a small one; it is hard to move around without hitting someone else’s table! I highly suggest eating here and then walking down to the River gate park near by! Love this breakfast place! Recommend the French toast or the Full British breakfast!
