Swing's Coffee

This place has kept me caffeinated for almost two years! I am a two-minute walk and just love what they are serving up. The vibe is laid back, with good staff, tasty pastries, and of course, amazing coffee (cold brew or hot). I order mostly online and my orders are always correct. Located in Del Ray, next to dog parks and baseball fields. Even our guy, Maxwell loves Swings after a busy AM in the dog park (don’t worry, folks no actual coffee was consumed by him).
I highly recommend you ‘swing’ by this place whenever you are in the area…you will not be disappointed!

I ordered a cappuccino "for here" but when my order came it was in a paper cup. I had asked before ordering if it would be served in paper and the cashier told me it would not. I was disappointed because one of my favorite things about a cappuccino is sipping it from a proper cup.

I mentioned to the barrista that I was hoping for a ceramic cup and they didn't hesitate to just make me a new coffee right there on the spot. I felt kind of embarrassed being so particular, but they made it right and I am very appreciative.

The coffee was delicious. I think most people don't seem to care about paper vs ceramic so I understand why they made the mix up. Any place that tolerates an annoying customer like me deserves a visit.

Atmosphere was beautiful! Very industrial look. However, the coffee/drinks were terrible. I ordered a white hot cocoa, received a white mocha, that was terribly bitter. My fiancée got a mocha and said that it tasted like they used unsweetened chocolate. And it took about 20 minutes to get our drinks so we ended up just throwing them out and eating the loss. Beautiful spot but wouldn’t recommend.

I have only been here one time but the one time I was there they forgot my order then when I finally got it after re-ordering it was incorrect. The coffee itself was very good but the wait was not worth $5 for a small.

Another excellent medium roast shop here in Virginia.

Solid pourovers, excellent lattes, and traditional espresso. Great representation of medium roast with a wide selection of coffees across the world.

Swing's is a fantastic coffee shop and they are my go-to for morning coffee runs before work. Their staff are always prompt and friendly; in the 40+ times I've been to Swing's since moving to the Del Ray area in 2017 I have *never* had a mistake with my order. What local cafe or restaurant can say that? It speaks to the level of organization management has in place to allow their staff to do their jobs well.

Anyway, long live Swing's Coffee! Thank you for being such a mainstay in the community!

Great coffee! Bought some beans from Tanzania & loved the roast. Awesome atmosphere, and very friendly baristas. Great experience on our drive through DC.

Great coffee, friendly enough staff. Lots of space in a cool industrial environment. Only one (small) gripe: they'll sell you a bagel but have no toaster. That said, the delicious coffee more than makes up for it.

Pretty cool place to get coffee and study.
It's close by soccer field/park so may be hard to find parking in the weekend. Decor and table set up is nice and rustic. Would do better if there is more seating and outlets for people who have laptops. Would come back again.
