I moved to old town from Seattle and finding good coffee hasn’t been the easiest feat. This place is truly a hidden gem. They don’t have a sign that hangs perpendicularly to the building so you have to be close to notice it. Excellent coffee & fantastic food! I love the savory crepes (smoked salmon & prosciutto are so tasty!) and I feel like I taste summer joy every time I have an iced oat milk coconut latte. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is wonderful. I love the exposed brick wall and how they have a variety of seating (couch, small tables, medium tables, high bar, and outdoor). Good for social gatherings & working. Wifi is available and there are plenty of outlets.

Tucked in the heart of historic Old Town Alexandria on S Union street ( a block from the water) is a gem of a cafe serving amazing organic coffee and quality dishes, crepes (yum!) and pastries.

We tried the savory crepes and they were out of this world!! Perfectly made stuffed with prosciutto, tomato and right amount of cheese. The butternut squash bisque was delicious. You can taste the freshness and butternut flavors.

Friendly service and nice ambiance for coffee and good food. We will return and try the wine selection next time.

Great hidden gem for breakfast or lunch in Old Town Alexandria. This is French café food with excellent coffee/tea, crepes (love the savory options), quiche, warm sandwiches, salads and more. Everything is fresh and made to order. They also have smoothies, pastries plus soups made from scratch every week (in the winter season).
But the truly underrated and unreviewed offering is the wine! They have a well-curated collection of wines from a French distributor at a price/quality point that you cannot replicate in Old Town, with many great options under $30 per bottle.
Overall their prices are correct and you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal in this neck of the woods.
Atmosphere is great, French/Ethiopian hands-on owners are humble, accommodating, and friendly.
This is a solid place where you can grab a hot or cold drink to go, have a good, filling lunch, or linger for hours on your computer while you sample various things. Or you can come with friends and shave off a few bottles of wine without breaking the bank.
Also, can accommodate parties and special events, just talk to the owners and they will work with your reasonable requests.
It has become one of my favorite spots in Old Town and I go there several times each week.

Looking for a lunch spot off of the main street in Old Town, Yelp led us to Cafe Du Soleil. It wasn't what we expected and we probably won't go back. Here's why:

1) Food: They sell crepes and other items. My wife ordered a crepe with vegetables and I the croque madame. Neither were great and mine came with a cheaply fried egg rather than a poached one. The winner was our daughter's quiche lorraine and the Nutella crepe. Also, their prices are high for mediocre food.

2) Service: It was not very friendly, impatient and didn't seem to like the fact that our five-year-old daughter was with us.

3) Space: It's small and inside a large building with other businesses. The space is decorated poorly and is dark.

4) Location: It's off of King Street and near the water, which was a win!

Cool place to grab a coffee and a bagel. every dish looked made with fresh healthy ingredients and large portions. I did t get to try their quiches or crepes but will be back for one :)

The perfect place for a cappuccino and a comfy couch.

Cafe du Soleil is a lovely French spot with a gorgeous interior and cozy atmosphere. It's a great place to catch up with friends or for a business meeting. The coffee selection is extensive and the quality is excellent. Whether you're looking for a quick caffeine fix or a leisurely evening with good company, Cafe du Soleil has you covered.

Quick place to sit and enjoy some great food and great drinks. I had a fantastic mozzarella and tomato sandwich and a really refreshing pineapple smoothie. The atmosphere is great and the restaurant is divided into a cafe and a wine bar. Highly recommend for all visiting Alexandria to visit.

I was very excited when I walked in because the space is incredible and ambiance is perfect. The person who took my order was extremely exhausted so she got a lot of it wrong. I ordered a flat white (she didn't ask the size) and they came out with a honking 16oz cup filled to the brim. Wow. A flat white is usually 5oz so I was confused. If a cafe isn't going to have traditional drinks, they should label them properly. I got the quiche Lorraine for there and it was just loaded with cheese I had to scrape most of it off - it was barely edible. I asked for 2 baked goods to go and she had to squeeze them into a mini bag. Overall, I was disappointed and will be going to other cafes in the area next time.

It was a cold March Saturday and this cafe was cozy. It has the feel of an old Irish pub. I got an oat milk chai and it was a 4/5. Staff was friendly. There is an assortment of pastries and ample seating.

We have ordered crepes and coffee. Both were delicious and worth every penny . The atmosphere was nice , and music playing was pleasant and not super loud. The food came out quickly as well. I’ll go back here again
