GREAT spot! The inside is wonderful and unique, they have a lot of different seating options. The service was great, they got my order out so quickly. I highly highly recommend the crème brûlée (danish?) every bite was a taste of heaven. I could definitely see myself coming here every day to work, meet with friends, get a cup of coffee to go. Absolutely worth checking out!

Great atmosphere, customer service and the food was tasty. The chicken Ceasar salad was delish and the chicken was seasoned very well. The ham, egg and cheese crepe was yummy as well. I would have liked the cheese melted throughout and for it to be served more hot.

The vanilla latte was very good. Will definitely return.

A great French style cafe in Old Town Alexandria. I had a Croque Madam and Croque Monsouir, the egg on the Croque Madam was not quite cooked to my liking (clear jelly on top of the white). Aside from that they cold pressed orange juice was delicious, as we're both of the sandwiches.

Nice break from your typical Starbucks venue. I brought my laptop and some homework. I had a complaint that I brought to an employee’s attention. Hopefully it get taken care of, otherwise…. I advise you go somewhere else.

It was first time to be there, I ordered a spinach cheese quiche. It was so delicious. Filling was so smooth and tasty and the crust was perfect balanced crunchiness and buttery.

This place has the best breakfast menu ever. The food tastes amazing and every bite tastes better than the last one. I ordered je suis belle and it was great. I will definitely be coming back. Thank You Cafe du Soleil!!😍

Amazing service, coffee and food

I stopped in for breakfast to find this cute coffe shop inside waiting to surprise me.

I ordered a Corrado and caprese toast. To my surprise the toast came with a salad. Both were delicious. While the toast took a while, I wasn't bothered. Though to make it up to me, without me complaining, they comped me a bran raisin muffin, which was also very good. As for the Corrado it was amazing.

Overall honestly I can't speak more highly of this place. Do yourself (and the neighborhood) a favor and visit this locally owned coffee shop instead of Starbucks next time. You won't be sorry.

So, let's take it from the top. I've now been here 3 different times.

Location: it's great but can fill up fast at different times.

Service: could be better. Not very friendly anytime I've come here.

Food: I'm simple, a scone/muffin and a coffee. Last 2 times I've asked for my scone to be warmed up and it's been cold in the middle.

Great location, needs friendlier staff and better service.

This is one of my new favorite places to eat. I didn't even know it existed until a friend took me there, and now I'm hooked on the potato leek quiche. Both times, the crust has been simply (finger kiss). The coffee is divine, the service is above and beyond, and I really like the seating area that's kind of across the hallway. It's a very inviting vibe--the space is comfortable and visually appealing. I haven't tried the crepes yet--maybe next time!

I thought I’d left this marvelous spot a review ages ago, better late than never I guess.
CdS is just a great example of a local cafe done really well.
The coffee is great, food excellent and the breads and sweets are fantastic.
There is a real pride of ownership here. A mention of how good the salad dressing was led to a few little cups to take home.
A really great, unpretentious spot in Old Town.
