Sat in line for 45 minuets today waiting for a simple frozen drink. To the point of cars honking behind me waiting for us to move. People at the window are talking to customers for 5+ minuets, even AFTER giving the customer their drink. It’s awkward for customers to be forced to carry on a conversation with a stranger. If I wanted to have a conversation, you should open a inside portion of your restaurant and people who desire can come in and talk. This is supposed to be convenient, not overbearing and a days worth of work to get a subpar drink. And yes, I’ve emailed your cheap/back door feedback email.
This business model won’t last long. I won’t be returning!
So I lived in Oregon for 15 yrs, which is the birth place of Dutch Brothers. I frequented local DB’s for many years. I know they train their baristas to be friendly and chatty. I’m cool with a smile and a quick chat while you make my drink. I have never waited at a DB for longer than 10 min though. Here in Waco, they’re taking it to a new level. I shouldn’t be held hostage in your drive thru line (with no way out) while I watch the baristas out in the drive thru line talking with the cars in front of me for 10+ minutes. Each. At one point there was no one even at the window getting their order, just a car 20 ft from the empty pick up window while they chatted! When I mentioned it to the barista who took my order, because I was now late and had no escape, I was told that as a company they value customer interaction and they hoped my day improves. That’s cool. I will be choosing to spend my money and time at a business that values customer SERVICE. There’s a difference between friendly service and wasting peoples time.
Love the coffee from here. Employees are always really friendly and helpful! If you don't know what you want ask for a recommendation, I have loved every drink I have gotten so far
Waco and it’s lovely people tend to do this thing where they flood a new food service establishment all at once, complain about the wait, then threaten to never return. The reality is that new food service establishments are learning and working out the kinks. They shouldn’t be expected to have perfect operations one day one, or even on month 3. It takes time. I read many comments and would say a few prescriptions of chill pills are maybe past due to be refilled. Good thing DB is next to a Walgreens AND CVS.
The DB Woodway team is new and learning. I’m sure they will settle into a groove as they figure things out. I love the coffee and love the smiling faces. I’ll be back.
Love, love, love this place and was so excited to get one close to where I live! They make everyone feel so welcomed and are always sooo happy! And the drinks oh baby they have all the options, you can even have it customized! I love my frozen coffee but man I love their smoothies too. And you must try the muffin tops!
Not one to post Yelp reviews, but this certainly warrants it:
Shane took my order and asked how my day was going. I decided to honestly share that my mother-in-law had a health scare and that we were taking the day to care for her (hence our trip to CVS next door).
With a calm smile he decided to comp our drinks, thanking us for taking care of her and offering his support. On an otherwise stressful day little things like this can go a long way, so I'll do the least I can in return and share my experience here.
Thanks everyone - loved the Kicker and Flap Jack as well, they were delicious!
I spend my summers in Oregon and stop at Dutch Bros at least twice a day EVERY DAY! I tried this one when it first opened...too slow so I went back to Sbucks. Tried it again a few weeks later...too slow. Tried it again today... because I love Dutch Bros...it took 30 mins to get a coffee. Friendly young man at the window engaged me in conversation and then turned around and made my drink! Why did the young lady take my order 30 mins before? Oh and that same young lady was now in the building but just chatting up the person making the drinks...and nothing else.
I am happy to see Dutch Brothers in my town. Drinks are delicious! The wait may be a little longer than preferred, however I understand this is a newer location and sometimes it takes a minute to get into the swing of things. 😊
Really enjoy this place. Since my wife & I have started getting drinks from here I have been running thru the list of freezes & honestly.... havent found one I don't like. The German chocolate, Cookie,& the Jelly Donut are great! That's just a few.
