The Grand Central Cafe claimed to fame is its a house that was featured in the movie Texas Chainsaw Massacre but don't let that nostalgia fool you, the food, the people working here and the COFFEE ☕ are WONDERFUL!!!

Had a great time & love the renovations.. Greg gave us a sneak peak of what is going on. Looks amazing & Greg was so kind plus filled us in on the exciting things to come. Greg was such a great guy & an amazing bartender. Will definitely be back. People like him are hard to find these days. Thank you Greg for your hospitality. 5 stars to you and Hoopers.

This is the original home featured in the film texas chainsaw massacre. The food was surprisingly really good! We mainly went for the house itself but the food was not disappointing. My family and I thought it was more like a museum, but it turned out to be a great place to eat, drink, and explore.

This place as far as it’s history and ambience goes, was fantastic… unfortunately the breakfast was horrible! The poached egg was liter hard boiled, the hollandaise sauce had no flavor and the home style potatoes were from a pre-packaged frozen bag. Also how does one mess up french toast?!!! Needless to say we will not eat there again. Super disappointing.

My family of 16 people went to Kingsland for vacation. We decided to go to Grand Central for lunch on our way out. We had not made reservations but they were very accommodating. We waited over an hour but it was worth it. The food was good and great portion sizes. The waiters we're very attentive and nice. We went specifically for the horses connection to Texas Chainsaw Massacre but there wasn't much to see. I think that was our bad though. We didn't realize it was used for production rather than being directly connected to the crime. I definitely recommend this place!

Such cool history for being the house where "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" was shot. The cafe dining room you eat in now is an add-on. The food was good Texas style but most fun is touring the house, under renovation at our visit. Will be back!

Sunday mornings can be busy so expect to wait or get there early!! We enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and the service was great.

Taco flats is hosting their temporary kitchen arrangement while the house undergoes a full kitchen renovation. The staff is super friendly and the food amazing even without the renovations. I'm impressed with how good the food and service is with their current situation. We had 4 or the 5 lunch tacos (smoker wasn't on due to rain so no smoked sweet potato). The Prata (sp? one with the beef fajita) was our favorite) We also had the breakfast tacos and the Migas was the best. The green sauce that comes with it is really good. The red salsa that comes with the chips is favorite.

Customer service was good, food was just ok. Wasn’t really worth the price you were paying. Food was edible for sure. If you love the idea of eating in the house used for Texas Chainsaw Massacre- then by all means, stop by! Just be sure to specify that you want your martini that’s on the rocks NOT in a martini glass and rather a highball (apparently not a given).
