The food was AWESOME and the service was great as well. Our waitress(es) were so friendly and helpful and shared some pretty great stories. There was construction going on though and sadly they didn't have any of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre theme yet since the place changed owners but they did say they had some decor coming and the place was going to have twice the theme that it did before so I think a future visit is going to be a must.

We recently stayed at The Antlers Inn for a family wedding right across the road from Grand Central Restaurant. The food is great and the staff are wonderful. The portions are generous and yummy. It is a very popular and busy place, they do not take reservations, so be prepared to wait, generally 45-60 minutes. It’s worth the wait and there are nice walks nearby and beautiful grounds to relax while waiting.

When you walk in there is no host, you have to walk up to the bar to be seated. I found a long hair in the Artichoke dip. My waitress was super sweet. However, this use to be a very classy steak house type restaurant and the new owners have turned it into a bar type atmosphere. The tables are way too close together. The new menu has no kid options. The house use to have gorgeous wood finishing, the flooring and the new tables don't go with the original wood work of the house any longer and it looks tacky. We've lived in kingsland for a decade and had always loved Grand Ave. Sorry to say we will not be back.

Traveled two hours and visit was highly underwhelming. I had the smash burger. It was smaller than expected and the fries tasted old or reheated. My husband had the pancakes and omelette. He mentioned that the pancakes were dry in texture but the omelette was decent. Was not worth the $50 we spent on the tab. The women who worked there were kind and attentive which is why I gave this review the three stars. Only feeling of the history of the home was in the bar area where they have a few pictures of leather face hanging on the wall. Overall rest of the vibe seemed to be catered toward the locals and not to the fans of the movie Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Wow! Wow! Wow! From cocktails and appetizers to main dish to dessert. Totally fantastic. What a wonderful culinary surprise in this tiny Texas town. Don't miss an opportunity to eat here. I promise you'll be impressed.

This is the house where Texas Chainsaw Massacre was filmed. Seriously. Not sure why anyone thought it was a reasonable business venture to move the house and use it for a restaurant. And I don’t think you will find this detail other than word of mouth or the props and t shirts. It is worth going once for the novelty of the experience, which includes the antics of the locals. Not worth going back for quality of food, service or drinks unless you like comedy and horror as much as I do. Nothing is terrible but it isn’t great either other than location. It would be great if they promoted it as the Texas Chainsaw Massacre house and screened the movie annually while serving barbecue.

Delicious food and great ambiance. Be prepared to wait, and for staffing shortages.

Insane fun for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie enthusiast. The menu is very good service was outstanding. The atmosphere has to be five stars because of the history of the home. Highly recommended whether you are a fan of the movie or not.

This place is amazing. Best eggs Benedict I've ever had. We go here quite often to get a light bite to eat, and the TX BLT is delicious, too. Our entire party of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast yesterday.

Not sure about the food, because we didn’t stay long enough to find out. When we walked in on a Saturday at about 10:30 am, we were immediately diverted to a side room where there as a sign that said “I am the host.” Unfortunately, there was no one there. After standing in the aisle between diners for several minutes, a woman came in from a side doorway saying, in a less than pleasant tone and facial expression, “Someone will be right with you,” to which I replied “Don’t take that attitude with me.” That elicited a forced smile that didn’t quite make it to her eyes from the woman. After standing for another minute or two, not knowing whether we were in the correct area to be seated or not, we exited the building, resolving to never return. It should be noted that as we came in initially, we observed numerous tables available for seating.

We miss Grand Central Cafe!
