Best food in Central Texas! Hands down! The atmosphere, the building, and the waitstaff only compliment the amazing food! If you are looking for a little sunshine, hopefully you’ll get Renee as your server!

The atmosphere and history of the place are really unique and intriguing. They handled our large group reservation with ease. It's what you might expect from a nicer small-town restaurant... everything is done well but nothing is going to knock your socks off. It was nonetheless a great dinner spot while we were staying at Log Country Cove.

All the reviews dated before Nov 3rd do not apply to Hoopers. That was before the new owners took over!
This place was so awesome when it was Grand Central now as Hoopers it sucks!! Food is not good. Atmosphere is so different! Dark and just sad. No Leatherface or Grandpa Sawyer. The new owners have not done a good job of paying homage to the movie or people who frequent the place. Sure hope they get it together and do better but it sure doesn't feel like it at the moment. Basically just another Mexican food place! Just what Kingsland didn't need!!!!

Loved Grand Central. Hoopers, not so much. You have to walk to the bar to see the hostess. Once we were seated, I asked for a drink menu and was informed they had a limited bar. I still wanted a drink menu, and had to insist that she go get me one. They were out of prosecco during Sunday brunch, and she was right, the cocktail menu was extremely lacking. We wanted fried pickles/jalapeños but were informed the jalapeños aren't fried, they're pickled. So we ordered chips and salsa instead. We were given chips and queso, and by then we'd decided not to order meals. The chips have a red seasoning on them but weren't given napkins. We had to get up and go ask for some. Good luck with your new endeavor, I hope you're able to work out the kinks.

The menu is all over the place can't order several things for lunch can't eat in certain places for lunch and the pricing is very high. One taco is $7. First attempt for 2pm Friday lunch I ordered chicken fried steak. Nope that's after 4. Ok so then was going to get a loaded brisket potato it's on the appetizer menu. Nope also after 4. Wife wanted the shrimp app with chips since she can't eat bread nope can't do that either. This place has a lot of potential but clearly needs a lot of work and needs to work with the patrons. We will not be back for lunch seeing it's only $7 for one taco or burger options. Maybe for dinner when we are back in town. Disappointing to say the least.

Great clean atmosphere with beautiful and creative dishes! Outdoor area that welcomes your pets! Great service! Highly recommend!

The food here was very good but I would not recommend the fish. The steak was delicious but the fish smelled more fishy than I prefer. Also they ran out of rolls before we got there and did not offer a substitute. The atmosphere was very nice and the staff very pleasant. I would go back.

Food is really good! Best food in the area. They have T-Shirts for the TX Chainsaw Massacre movie that was filmed there. Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because service took a bit long. The bar area is great!
