Brooks Shaw's Old Country Store

Down home cooking in a buffet! This is probably the best "home cooked meal" from a buffet I've ever had! Everything was piping hot and was extremely fresh! Service was phenomenal. Even the desserts tasted like grandma's! I highly suggest stopping in. You'll leave full and satisfied!

We stop whenever we are passing through, because they have good, hot food and nice service. We arrived an hour before closing on Sunday night and walked right in without a line. The dining room was festive and clean. As we helped ourselves to the buffet, we noticed them replenishing the food which was a relief. 😊 Our waitress was attentive and kept our beverage glasses full.

Stopped off here for lunch having seen a few recommendations on the Tennessee forum. Good choice. The store itself was interesting and we got the chance to have a browse whilst waiting for our table. Everyone was every friendly, service good, the buffet varied and tasty. We felt the meal was good value, loved the banana custard desert, haven’t had that since childhood, took me back yearrrrrrs!

This was definitely a walk into history. The artist's renditions all around the store are awesome and memory-invoking. The rustic vibe of the store/restaurant is nice and it was clean. The servers were nice and friendly. I loved the display of candles gone by and the other trinkets in the gift shop and the old-fashioned ice cream soda fountain were the perfect touch.

But, what about the food? If I were to rate the food only, it would be 3 stars simply because the area was clean, well stocked and everything was hot. But, everything was also bland and some of the vegetables were drowning in liquid.

Just imagine an old time country buffet. Then you'll understand what this place is. They specialize in down home Southern cuisine. The corn bread is a hit. It's cooked right there in front of you on a griddle. Be sure to bring your stop button.

Good quality old school buffet. Unlike Golden Corral, this restaurant does not bombard their diners with variety and quantity, but they make sure every dish is prepared well. In particular, I like the spaghetti prepared with their in-house meat sauce (the meat chunks are irregular in both shape and size) and cream corn. There is also an irresistible side dish of peach slices.

I had a great time looking around this old and historic place. Had to wait 15 minutes so I could shop. Then buffet time! It was good! I haven't had good fried chicken in a very long time! I really enjoyed myself and so did everyone that I encountered, today!

Such a fun stop off the side of the road! They have a lot to buy in their store and there’s several food options. They have a restaurant, hot food bar, fridges, and a soda fountain. We got a chocolate malt and a scoop of ice cream and both were great. Staff was really nice too. There’s so many souvenirs to choose from.

The staff was very kind, and the food was absolutely delicious. I was on my way back from TX passing through to go back to KY, and I wish I would've taken 3 more plates back home with me! Also had the blackberry cobbler which was also delicious. Great overall experience, and I liked the atmosphere. Will def go back again when I get a chance.

Visited the Casey Jones museum and had lunch at this convenient store and restaurant. There's a buffet which includes a salad bar. Be sure to check the website for the daily menu as the food items vary by day. It got really packed around 2 so get there early!

Make sure you check out the candy store and ice cream shop to fulfill your sweet tooth. While you're there, check out the old soda fountain. The sign below it says that 75 we're made and only 3 exist today!
