The Governor's Cup Coffee Roasters

The woman at the counter was very kind. I was lost downtown and she was happy to give me directions and let me charge my phone. I got a jasmine iced tea which was absolutely delicious. I also got a cheese scone on a second occasion, which was quite tasty!

I get coffee here several times per week. It's definitely the go-to for downtown Salem, both for a caffeine fix and as a social hangout. They have solid coffee, and good baristas making lattes and whatnot. Their food choices are limited but very good--you can get bagels & cream cheese, as well as bagel sandwiches.

Lots of places to sit and work, and plenty of power outlets and tables. The staff is super cool. They also do some alcoholic drinks.

Despite running out of the flavor that I was hoping to add to my coffee the barista was extremely polite about it. He offered plenty of other options and still made an absolutely spectacular cup of coffee. Highly recommend, if I lived in Salem I would be here every day.

Come here if you enjoy paying for 12 ounces but getting 4 oz out of the cup cus they definitely don’t fill it , which is fine because you’re not gonna finish it either way when the coffee taste like legit sour vomit . No idea how this place got four stars , must be the atmosphere because it looks cool , now only if there were more clean tables we were allowed to sit on.

I really like the decor, I'm a cyclist. The coffee I had, house blend, was delicious, tasted very fresh and the service quick despite being a busy time. One bathroom in a place serving caffeinated drinks is borderline sadistic however keeping me from giving a 5 star rating.

My friends and I get coffee here everytime we're in Salem. The people are great and so is the atmosphere. There are tons of substitutes for milk and the coffee is always amazing. Everything about this place is brilliant- even the decor in the bathroom

The Gov Cup has fantastic bagels which are great for their breakfast sandwiches. Coffee is great, roasted by them, and there's plenty of seating to enjoy everything.

Covid-19: indoor seating and bathrooms are closed, food and drink to go only. Temporary outdoor seating is heated.

Very unassuming, hole-in-the-wall location. Don't be deterred - it's worth coming in! Great coffee and fun/tasty bagel variety and baked goods. Tons of atmosphere and personality!

Their baked goods? Immaculate. Their bagel sandwiches? Perfection. Their coffees and teas? Heaven. The ambience? Chef’s kiss. I will always love Gov Cup. The people who own it are good people who stand up for their employees and for good causes within the community.

Excellent blended Chai drinks. Other drinks are good too. They have snacks and appetizer type food and they're good too. Environment is cozy, haven't been there during a show, but it's always a pleasant place to go, not very loud, free WiFi (we haven't used it so we don't know how good it is). We will continue coming back.
