One of my favorite coffee shops outside of Seattle. It's always clean with a great atmosphere. Offering a wide range of goodies, if you want finely roasted coffee this is the right place. They have fantastic baristas keeping stock with everything from fresh bakery sweets, to a fine assortment of teas. There's a bar downstairs and a nice little seating arrangement upstairs.

Husband and I went here for the first time last Sunday and it was so cozy. We each got a bagel Sammich and some coffee and sat outside reading a book and enjoying our breakfast. Was quiet, peaceful, and just an overall wonderful experience. Also had bacon jam for the first time and it was so good!

I love this place!! Their coffee and teas are amazing, the atmosphere and staff is so welcoming and friendly, and they have the best bagel sandwiches that I have had anywhere. It can get pretty busy during certain hours of the day, but would still definitely recommend.

In my opinion, I loved this coffee place. My friends recommend it for me. I wasn't expecting such a beautiful place. The coffee was fantastic and it was environmentally friendly. It was busy but calm at the same time. There was fantastic plant art and had a cozy feel to it. I wanted to live there! As a barista and an artist this is the perfect place to go. Also the customer service was impeccable. They were so friendly and joked with my friend group. I just can't say enough good things about this little treasure of a coffee place.

Found out about this cafe in a tourist magazine at my hotel. The server was chatty ( we love that), the coffee was excellent and the blueberry muffin was moist and delicious. Next time I am in Salem, definitely coming back.

The Gov Cup is Salem's little coffee roasting coffee shop. It is a gathering space; a slice of peace; a sensory treat; and a creative place. Their Nicaragua is my favorite roast and their bagels with lox is a perfect little brunch for one. (Spielman bagels! Real boiled bagels!) Go when you need a creative reset. Go when you need some "parallel play" with other people. Go to just pick up some beans, a bagel, and a sticker or two for your loved one. š

Really enjoyed this little spot, it was buzzing with life, but we were still able to get a table upstairs with no wait, so that was nice. Iām from Portland and miss my Spielmanās bagels, but lucky for us Salemanders they serve Spielmanās here with a few choices of cream cheese smear as well! I got a dry cappuccino and my friend got a chai and we both enjoyed our drinks. I got the ābest ever brownieā to try as well and for some reason it tasted like licorice? Like maybe they used black licorice or star anise in it, but I couldnāt eat it. Every thing else was lovely, the decor is cute and itās a fun spot to be to have your coffee.

Hidden gem! Stopped by here only because we wanted to grab coffee and walk down to the riverfront. What a refreshing surprise. Firstly, the place is very cozy and welcoming. Perfect place to read a book or just relax, have a conversation. Secondly, they have one of the nicest selections of loose leaf tea I've encountered in awhile. It's not often that you are able to get smoked black tea in a coffee shop. AND- the staff was great, very friendly and seemed happy to be there.

Spacious facility. Friendly staff. Downstairs and upstairs seating. Tasty drinks. I had a 16oz hot cocoa. Bathrooms are upstairs and are not wheelchair accessible. Food options are a few pastries and bagel sandwiches. Would love to have quiche as an option.
