Great donuts and a variety of drinks.

This place was really amazing! They have the usual coffee drinks, lattes, etc. I had a coffee which was good. The thing to come for, though, is the donuts. They have a selection of 4 or 5 different flavors of homemade donuts. I tried two flavors and they were both excellent. The texture of the donuts is out of this world. The texture was a rich, velvety, melt in your mouth kind of texture. It was quite unique, and made the donuts really delicious. You just have to try one to see what I am talking about. I will make this a mandatory stop every time I am in Boone.

Excellent donuts, coffee, and service! Their donuts are more dense than others, which makes them feel more substantial. The local lotus and orange glaze donuts are incredible. Their coffee drinks are more than the typical selection. The queen anne's lace is one of my favorites! The staff is always much friendlier and welcoming than most other local coffee shops. I no longer live in the Boone area, so I really miss Local Lion!

Coffee was fine, but the donut I had didn't live up to the hype. Just not a lot of flavor to the dough itself.

Went for coffee and donuts. The mocha frappe wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but still good. The real treat was the homemade donuts. I tried glazed and chocolate and both were delicious. Very cool and relaxing atmosphere also!

I'm a fan of the Local Lion.

I make it a point to visit whenever I'm in Boone, and I'm never disappointed. I like their coffee and tea, and the staff are always friendly and attentive. Likewise, I enjoy both the shop's airy patio and its homey interior. On my many visits, the bathroom has always been clean and well-maintained, and I've never had any problems (nor have I been run off when lounging around and eating a long, drowsy lunch). God-willing, I'll return to the Local Lion on my next Boone trip.

The Bavarian Cream donuts are deliciously decadent (and perhaps I shouldn't write about them because they are so delectable that they disappear early in the day)! In fact, please don't buy them all up at once. ;-) The staff is friendly. The atmosphere welcoming and offers indoor/outdoor seating. I LOVE this place!!

My husband and I came in today and got the worst hot cocoa and coffee that we have had in a long time. Both were watered down and had bad after tastes. The staff were friendly enough and the atmosphere was ok, but the product wasn't good. Definitely disappointed.

Ordered 3 strawberry smoothies and a coffee....

Dude making drinks says "are you serious?"

Pretty rude. If you don't want to make drinks, don't get a job doing so.

I come here alot of mornings, and I love the atmosphere. The staff are always nice and they get you your order asap. There is a drive through line if you are in a rush, and it is so much better and less expensive than Starbucks or other coffee shops around here. I would recomend to anyone looking for a great coffee and a delicious donut!
