Favorite coffee shop in town! Great doughnuts, AMAZING coffee, and delicious local beers on tap. The staff is always friendly, and provide a great environment. I am always finding myself wanting Local Lion on Sundays when it's closed!

I don’t drink coffee, but I come here regularly for tea and donuts. It’s one of the few coffee shops I’ve ever been to that has rooibos/red tea lattes, delicious alternatives to caffeinated lattes!
The staff is amazing, friendly and attentive. Local Lion is especially great with the virus going on: not only are they sanitary, but they have a drive thru!
Highly recommended. My favorite donuts are the lavender and the maple, but they’re all great. London Fog is delicious too. Seriously it’s worth the visit.

I live in Raleigh, but I am in Boone often for work. The Local Lion is a regular morning stop for me when I'm in town, as they have fantastic coffee and the yeast donuts are delicious as well (the orange glaze is my favorite). The service is always friendly and fast and the atmosphere is very cozy and relaxed. A++ will eat more donuts.

The best independent coffee shop in Boone, NC, located just a short walk away from App State university. Donuts are old fashioned pure goodness! Their big and fluffy Cinnamon yeast donut is my personal favorite.

Great coffee shop! They have amazing doughnuts that everyone needs to experience at least once. They roast their own coffee and the barristas are very nice and knowledgeable. They also serve local craft beer and smoothies if you are not a coffee drinker.

I frequent here often. The baristas are all very pleasant and knowledgeable about there offerings. There is a spacious inside that’s warm and inviting along with a good size front covered Patio with couches tables and chairs. If your in the mood for a great cup of coffee or one of their amazing doughnuts stop in and give them a try.
