Hatchet Coffee

I found this lovely place on a trip to the mountains in the fall of 2018. I have had coffee all over the world and nothing tops their Blue Ridge Roast. In fact, this is now the only coffee I brew in my house. If you get a chance stop by and order a "warm hug" when it is on the menu. I highly recommend!

I love matcha, but I found that few local coffee shops sell it. I used to go to Starbucks when I had a matcha craving, but I prefer to support local. So I was really happy to discover Hatchet’s matcha latte! It is delicious, not too overly sweet, and is garnished with candied ginger. I get it with avocado toast if I want a full breakfast. The flavors that they use in their food and drinks are delicious and unique. And they are being very safe with handling the virus. Highly recommend Hatchet!

The quality of roasting that is done really pulls the flavor out for my morning, 2nd morning, 3rd morning, midday, and afternoon coffee. They really are on point with their technique and I have become a subscriber. The roasted beans are fresh even when shipped to you. I can measure this with the amount of gases that are released during the vacuum brewing process. (You do not see that as often when having beans shipped to you.)

In addition to the outstanding roasting, the employees are really caring and ensure that they are getting customer service right. I am glad I found them.

I stop by this coffee shop every single time I'm in Boone and I have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is incredible and the aestetic of the decor is super inspiring. There seasonal specials are always innovative and unique. They also have the cutest merchandise to purchase as a souvenir. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this should definitely be on your bucket list.

Great coffee! We rushed in a few minutes before closing (we had a long drive ahead of us and really wanted good coffee). The staff was friendly and the coffee was fantastic! Will definitely return when back in Boone. We felt truly sorry for arriving so close to closing and appreciated the nonjudgmental staff!

Covid has changed a lot of things for everyone, so sometimes a great cup of coffee is desperately needed to get through the day. They’ve set up everything to be as accommodating to everyone as possible, while following guidelines suggested by the CDC. Also, they’re coffee is amazing. I wish I would’ve been able to spend sometime in the cafe which looks super cute and cozy, but perhaps next year when there isn’t a pandemic going on. I do wish they had a larger variety of darker roasts, but their Blue Ridge Parkway roast is my go to for now 😊

Outstanding pumpkin sauce latte! Found this little coffee shop while passing through Boone. This place takes customer health seriously during this pandemic and that is sincerely appreciated! They accidentally forgot about my order but went above and beyond with their customer service to make the situation right and were super apologetic. I have since online ordered 3 additional bags of coffee from them!

Excellent customer service!!! Baristas gave great recommendations and let us sample a few things while deciding what to order. Beautiful space with nice spots to study, work, or chat with friends. Plus delicious coffee from this wonderful local roaster.
