It is a place where you can expect decent seating arrangement. It is an old style yet well maintained seating. Does not have a standout menu and that I believe is the missing element. Bavarian sandwich was positively a good one. The place has potential to be a standout restaurant if put more energy in menu creativity. The gifts are good however expensive.

The coffee was the worst I had in a long time. It was worse than a highway gas station. Not worth ordering AT ALL.

You can visit that place once. But, do look around.

Always a pleasure to eat at Veranda. This locally owned one-of-a-kind restaurant is relaxed and has personality. The food is consistently good. They offer sandwiches, salads and homemade soups. The staff is friendly. Plan to wait for a table.

The soups and sandwichs are incredible. The quality of the food is excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We couldn't decide what we wanted to get. So we'll be back to enjoy what we didn't get this time!

We have been looking for a homey comfort food and this is the place! I got the special sandwich with ham, bacon and a pretzel bun and ham and bean soup and it was delicious.

Veranda Cafe has wonderful sandwiches, salads, and soups. Their specials menu is a hidden gem for a creative take on Southern foods. But it is their amazing owners and great staff that make this lunch spot in Black Mountain a "must visit" place!

We had a party of five and had to wait for one of our party. They accommodated us, were very gracious and attentive without hovering. The food was excellent and served in very generous portions. You should expect during peak times about a 10 to 30 minute wait. They're that popular.

UPDATE #2: Still love the food variety and service.
Only restaurant on Cherry St. currently offering on-line ordering coupled with non- contact curbside pick up right in front.
Strictly follows all pandemic related guidelines.

UPDATE:
A couple relatively new desserts have been added......they are fantastic as a finishing touch to a great meal!
Chocolate Gateau, GF Chocolate Tort, Limoncello Mascarpone. Now I am conflicted because I was "stuck" on the Salted Caramel Cheesecake,, Carrot Cake and Coconut Cake.

I am a local resident.
My favorite lunch:
2 glasses red wine, one of the fantastic homemade soups and the incredible cakes!
The daily specials are wholesome home cooking, prepared with all fresh ingredients and love. I look forward to seeing the daily menu.
The new local family owners as of June 2019 carry on the decades old friendly service with awesome food. A must go to if you live in or visit Black Mountain!

One of my top picks to have lunch when visiting Black Mountain. The sandwiches are delicious. You will never go wrong with your picks. Staffs are great. The Garden salad is awesome. Fresh and locally sourced.
