Katy's Cafe

The food was decent, but the service was very slow for a sit down meal. Twenty minutes after placing our orders we were informed that the restaurant was out of Gorgonzola cheese for a salad we ordered, and the waitress asked if cheddar was okay as a replacement. We said yes but only to find out that it was cheap yellow shredded cheese that ruined the salad. The "award winning" blue mushroom does live up to its reputation; it was quite yummy.

Popped in before hitting the ski lodge with some friends for a caffeine boost and that was definitely the right call. They had all your standard coffee and tea offerings, but some fun choices as well. I had the raspberry cheesecake latte, which was delicious! Sweet, but not too sweet and perfectly blended, this drink is something I probably shouldn't have too often, but would certain enjoy again.

Others in my group at the Dirty Chocolate Chai and really enjoyed that as well.

Cute, casual, coffee shop/cafe atmosphere located in the heart of Ellicottville's main thoroughfare. Friendly, prompt service with excellent food and large portions. Open when many of the other restaurants are not. The only reason for a 3 🌟 🌟 🌟 star review is that they don't have a dinner service and they were out of several of the items we requested. In their defense, it was an hour before their closing time.

Delicious! Loved the menu! Great unique breakfast wraps! Can't believe it took me so long to try this place!

This was Christmas in Ellicottville weekend and I don't think Katy's was prepared for the amount of customers they got. I went for lunch with two of my granddaughters. We sat about 20 minutes, waiting for menus. It was another 10 minutes or so when we got our food, which was well within reason. I did ask for a refill on my iced tea, but never got it and we waited probably another 20 minutes for our check after the server cleared our plates. I'll just remember not to go there when it's busy.

The food was delicious, and the presentation of my breakfast was eloquent. Very nice atmosphere. I am not one for French Toast but...I can not wait to go back for more of it. Sorry I didn't take a photo!

Terrible unfriendly service. The server barely spoke a word, and spilled an entire plate of chips onto my 89 year old Moms lap and did not even apologize. Good thing it wasn't a bowl of hot soup. Took until midway through our lunch for her to bring more. Brought us coffee with no cream, and when we requested it, took us two times to get some. She sloshed the coffee into my Moms cup and after the episode with the chips, made me very nervous. No napkins, had to request those as well. I am in E'ville a lot, but will never eat at Katy's again.

I agree with Selina. We are passing through returning from Niagara Falls & our server was super friendly & welcoming. Food is fresh & delicious with custom made option. The price is reasonable. Love the vibe and ambiance.

I was in Ellicottville with my grand kids and while my daughter and her kids were parked, I walked in to get a coffee to go. This was around 12:05 pm , knowing that they would be busy for the lunch crowd, I still decided to wait. I did not have a problem with this, especially noticing some of the food that the staff was taking to the seated customers..the wraps looked excellent! So as I was glancing around the cafe with the line slowly moving. I had stated I was okay with this. As time went on I would smile at the staff, especially at the two cashing customers out, the line still advancing slowly. Finally, there I was, next in line..standing at the front of the line, another customer walks in and goes right up to the counter and places an order. The staff clearly knew this person was not waiting in line. Are you kidding me??? I could have said something but the staff seemed to be working very hard and trying to get customers their food. I walked out, smiled as I looked at the sky after waiting 25 minutes and thought I will never go there again. Too bad, the food looked very good. The reason I gave it two stars is the cafe looked really clean and the staff serving tables attentative.

Very impressed with the overall experience. Very good menu choices for gluten free options. Food was delicious and prepared very well. Prices were reasonable. Definitely will be back.
