Cod for breakfast? Yeah I'll try it...and it was pretty darn good. Pancakes were thin and tasty, grits were obviously made by a Yankee, and the eggs were nothing special. Great service and cool atmosphere.

2016 - Lovely open or covered deck areas looking over the back bay. Or indoors if you want out of the weather. Best place for breakfast - you can google for lots of great articles on the place - or a quick bite at other times.
2017 - Still the best pancakes anywhere!
2021 - lots of outdoor seating, the view is awesome, still the best pancakes ever!
2022 - still lovely dining experience for breakfast or lunch, still great ambience directly on the water.

Gilchrist is an AC institution. It's a classic breakfast place with delicious food and unbeatable views of the back bay and marina. The service is always fantastic and the crab omelette is perfection.

It was a veeeeery long wait outside ☀️🌡it was 96°! (approx 20-30 minutes) The food was basic choices but it was soooo good. 👍🏼The staff was very pleasant❤ & attentive. We ate on the dock outside. Nice view of the water and properties😊

I visited this place while on vacay in Atlantic City. It’s right on the coast, with a marina view and it shows a different side of the town. My experience was so good I visited every morning til it was time for me to head back home.

This place is a beautiful hidden gem. Like a destination place filled with traditional goodness. Perfect for breakfast, brunch & lunch.

The service is fantastic. The staff are happy, willing to please you and are very attentive.
The food comes out quickly. I don’t know how they do it but the food was fresh, perfectly cooked (each veggie was perfect) and tasty.

DELICIOUS! This is my second favorite breakfast restaurant in America. The food quality is top grade, always hot, and served quickly. Both their blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes are thin, crispy edges, and light. The staff is also welcoming and straight to the point. This is a no frills place with affordable price points. Their Tropicana location is just as amazing, but without the nice view.

After much debate we decided to go outside of the casino area restaurants to Gilchrist. Located in Gardner’s Basin with spectacular views of the waterway you will find incredible tasting food. Although we waited awhile due to a heavy influx of patrons, it was worth the wait. So plan accordingly if you’re going. Staff that served us was very friendly, patient, prompt, indulging and all with a smile. You’re never rushed!! As far as the food, we had the pancakes with banana walnuts 😋(as recommended by our server), the crab meat omelette with no scarcity of the crab meat 😋(very delicious) and my son had the veggie omelette with home fries. The home fries were cooked crisp on the outside and tender inside as he likes it. We also had the turkey burger which was average and could use some adjustments to the recipe. It was a very enjoyable brunch!!! We will return again!!

Another post shows only 6 tables. There’s more than 6, maybe a dozen. It’s March and there’s plenty of tables. I can see how it would get crazy in good weather. There is outdoor (enclosed) seating, but it wasn’t a day for that. I ordered eggs over medium with extra crispy bacon and peach pancakes. I got eggs over medium and the bacon was extra crispy. Pancakes were the wonderful peach flavor of the day. Hubby had a western omelet that he was very happy with. Service was fast and friendly. Everything was clean. We would go back.
