From the business
"Hub Cafe has its roots at Branched Oak Farm, a certified organic, grass-based dairy. The dream began to blossom in the summer of 2014 when the city of Lincoln and the Great Plains Trails Network agreed to share the vision for the cafe space. The project came to life with a combined passion for bringing authentic and delicious, healthy and locally-sourced food to Lincoln. Since opening in late January 2016, Hub Cafe has shown itself to be a comfortable and affordable coffee shop, breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner venue with great local brews on tap and a thoughtful wine list. We provide delicious, vegetarian-friendly, creative, and modern menu choices that are created with food sourced primarily in our food community."

Think they had an off day. Pork bowl was all fatty gristle so it was hard to eat. Breakfast bowl was pretty good - it’s spicy if you’re sensitive to that. They have great gluten free options..if I go back I will order differently.

When I walked into the shop it had a energetic vibe which I love. The waiting staff was absolutely amazing. The barista, Luta was not just someone who makes coffee but an artist, and the art was spectacular. It wasn’t just the looks, but it was also the taste that was fantastic and made my day. Thank you Luta for your barista passion, and sharing it with my family! The kitchen had a selection of house made hot sauces which were delicious, and the recommendations were on point. Their homemade “jalapeño” hot sauce was delicious as well as the “XXX” sauce. All in all I would 100% recommend The Hub for any brunch in the Lincoln area.

We loved the Hub!
Friendly people, veggie & vegan options (biscuits & gravy vegetarian style is my FAVorite—rare to find it nearby.)
And the walk afterward around that area in Lincoln is just lovely, with paths, & fountains, parks among the walking & bicycling paths we are rich with here!

The hub has a very fun menu, offering various versions of some of your favorite dishes. They are best known for their brunch or breakfast items, but lunch is delicious there as well. It sits along the canal and trail near downtown Lincoln, so has a fun little view and outdoor seating. The establishment isn't large inside, but still offers a decent amount of seating. There is a menu online, but some of the items slightly change with the season.

Fresh locally sourced ingredients. Vegetarian, gluten free, coffee/tea, bar (beer, wine, & cocktails), and to-go items avaiable. A cozy modern cafe with beautiful views, located right on the bike path with indoor and outdoor seating. Seasonal menu items, weekend specials, Wednesday night Farmer's Market (during the summer) Hub & Soul and other evening/outdoor events also hosted here. This place has quickly become our favorite weekend go to. Service is very helpful and friendly. An excellent healthy option cafe.

The best brunch in Lincoln. Incredible ingredients and so well prepared. I had the biscuits and gravy and it was unreal. I love that their coffee is as impressive as their food and service. 10/10 stars, can't wait to come back.

The Hub Cafe is absolutely aces. The standard menu is incredible and they have specials each day that are equally great. We tried the crispy pork belly gyro bowl ($10.50), the breakfast sandwich with chorizo added ($10) and the savory breakfast bowl ($11) and all three had great flavor and left you feeling full but not weighed down. I highly recommend their cold brew as well ($3 when you dine in). They have outdoor tables on the patio but if it’s full just get your food to go and sit at one of the many park benches overlooking the trail!

A lot has changed at The Hub since the pandemic started. Flavor is nearly non existent, quality has deeply declined, portions have shrank, and like everything else, prices have gone up. Love the concept of this place and the physical space. But man oh man, it’s become another cog in the wheel of pathetic mediocrity.
The tzatziki sauce is not much more than plain watery yogurt, the pork belly was under seasoned and not crisp, the shoots were old, the quinoa tabouli was just quinoa, why put rice in it when there is already a grain? The cucumbers were decent, way too many pungent Greek olives, not sure how they managed to make pickled cabbage flavorless but they passed that challenge with flying colors. I think there was a total of a half teaspoon of feta and there wasn’t enough salt in the shaker to make the flavors bloom. My company was not impressed by their meal either, overcooked tortilla. Dry chicken. Flavor was better than the bowl but generally average at best. Drinks were forgotten. Had to ask for them and then was given attitude like it was our fault they didn’t come out. Lots of snotty side glances from the short haired girl putting glasses away from behind the bar. Maybe she thinks people can’t read her body and facial language. Try again. You’re speaking loud and clear.
So our drinks after we got the run around were sitting on the counter getting cold. They had to remake them. More $ amd resources down the drain. Food came out and the kid we asked about the drinks went back inside and didn’t even ask where our drinks were. We saw him playing with an RC car a few minutes later outside on the trail. Bahaha
When serving us, he slammed the food down on the table and pushed the bowls over quickly knocking the salt and pepper and sauce bottles over. This place is a perfect example of the lazy, don’t care, can’t be bothered, it’s your fault not mine attitude of many of the current food service workers found at mid to high quality food establishments.
Just one more comment-, lemon, lime, orange, zest of any of the three, onions of any sort, soy/tamari, coconut aminos, vinegar, sesame oil, parsley, garlic, onions, spices-all pretty inexpensive additions for the amount of flavor and elevation they bring to a meal. And for Pete’s sake, use some salt when cooking the meat.

Very well thought out dishes. Healthy and tasty. They have classics, like grilled cheese , biscuits and gravy but somehow make it healthy. My personal favorite place in Lincoln for healthy food to start my day.

This is a great place e to grab a bite to eat or a cup of coffee and even a beer. The view is great and they have outdoor seating. The food was very fresh and hot, service was great but there can be a line here during peak hours but definately worth the small wait time. The avocado toast and skillet were great I added a egg to the skillet made it even better. Will be back for sure.
