Hands down best meal between Silver Gate and Cooke City. Wished we'd tried it so much earlier!
Pumpkin bread is moist and generous portioned.
Pancakes were not heavy and comes with choice of breakfast meat and 2 eggs. Same with French toast.
Coffee is delicious...not bitter and didn't amp me up (no decaf available).
Will be back as they open early @ 5:30am for fueling for wildlife in Yellowstone.

Tasty elk burger. Service was prompt but their credit card machine was down and they didn't say anything before we ordered. Glad I had a little cash with me. Server was efficient, but she had kind of an edge and we left with somewhat of a negative experience. Atmosphere was great.

Didn't eat here. We were about to order and left because we saw a sign on the wall that was supporting a Marxist group along with some other offensive narratives. I don't quite understand why restaurants and companies feel the need to push their politics, they only make people uncomfortable by doing it.

We LOVE this spot and stop here every trip to Yellowstone for several years now. Everything on the menu is great but our favorites are the Tamales and Pumpkin Bread.

I adore this place. Who would think it is possible to have such fresh food far from any town of any size in tiny Silver Gate, Montana. a mile from Yellowstone's Northeast Entrance. The Log Cabin Cafe is a bit like a bed and breakfast, but I have never stayed there. I can speak to the food, which is delicious ... and let me say it again ... fresh. You would not think a vegetarian like me would have options when you see a rustic old log cabin and inside all kinds of dead animals hanging ... yet how wrong that is. I have numerous options, a tempeh burger being my favorite. For those who do eat meat, there are plenty of options as well, but what gets me is the quality of the vegetables in the salads, the taste of the fruit (as opposed to the tasteless fruit in most restaurants), and just the thoughtfulness of the menu. I come to Yellowstone a lot, but whenever I am in this far corner, I eat here whether alone or with a loved one. I like it that much.

The service was extremely slow. We sat outside. Waited 20 min to order 5 waters and entrees. After tweeny more minutes we still didn't have water. I grabbed a bottle from my car. Eventually we asked for our waters. She brought 2 glasses for 5 people! I had to ask for 3 more. Our food finally arrived; it tasted good. Overall the food was good but the service was lousy. I would not recommend this place to a friend.

Wonderful trout with complimenting tomato basil soup topped off with coffee and fresh pumpkin bread. Very tasty and reasonably priced lunch menu. Customer service was great!

If I could leave a zero rating I would. This was so disappointing as I grew up not only loving the food here when it was owned by Kay King but working here as well. To return to this restaurant in the state it is in and with one of the worst meals I have ever eaten (not to mention at the price) leaves me sad. My steak had no ounce of seasoning, the seasonal vegetables was some shaved carrots that were so bad I could not even eat them and the place was so dirty it was hard to even stomach the meal. In addition they miscalculated the tab, overcharging us on an already expensive meal. Wish I could add a picture of the dead fly on the table right next to my plate. What a shame to take such what used to be such amazing place to go and turn it into this. The only positive side was the hummus was fantastic.

We had breakfast here and tried the French toast, plus some scrambled eggs and sausage, as well as the Trout breakfast with hash browns. Both were good and our server was great :) Meal prices on the higher side for what you get but it's a local business which is so important to support.
