Nestled in the mountains just outside Yellowstone with dramatic mountains shooting straight up all around you. Cabins and restaurant are really cool old style log buildings. The host is super friendly and helpful. The food is home cooked and delicious. You will not be disappointed with this stop!

Stopped for breakfast
Simple menu, great food.
I had French Toast... eggy and vanilla.
My partner had Cowboy classic eggs and meat.
Don't miss the pumpkin bread.

There are only 2 servers so give them a break, they are doing their best. And for God's sake, leave a decent tip!
If you order scrambled eggs don't expect big fluffy eggs. These are country scrambled, so partially fried then chopped and scrambled.
This place is very rustic, it's a cabin that is over 100 years old. So no indoor bathroom, it's outside around the corner.
This is Yellowstone, act like a Montanan and toughen up! At least it has a roof!
Anyway, this place is famous for pan fried trout for breakfast, pumpkin bread that is to die for, and stout coffee.

Coffee was great and served in large mugs! The French toast was huge and flavored with butter and cinnamon.
My second breakfast I has hash brown and large bacon strips. Very good.
Charming place. Friendly waiter.

The nice lady who brought us our drinks was outstanding. She left and the service went with her. The man who took our order forgot us. Over an hour to get food. Finally comes and its wrong. Go to pay and he didn't want to give me any change. Food was good but not worth 15 bucks for a hot ham and cheese with a fancy name.

Bizarre place. Walked into the restaurant where maybe four tables were full. Was sat promptly and given a menu. A nice young gentleman served me coffee.
And, that was it. Several other tables came in and had their orders taken -- and food served while I was there. The person taking orders, who I guess is the owner, walked by me a dozen times and ignored me. A few other guests commented to me about it. Nothing could get her attention.
I enjoyed the rather good coffee for 45 minutes, left five dollars on the table and left.
Really wanted to try the trout.

Delicious fresh trout! Really enjoyed our meal. It's a must stop before northeast entrance to Yellowstone. Even though the entrance is closed, this makes it worth the ride to Silver Gate. Quaint and authentic restaurant.

We stopped here for a quick breakfast on our way to Yellowstone. Food was delicious and high quality. Coffee was great. But the best thing about this place is the people. We left a cap there. We had left the area and called them after. They immediately mailed it to our home and would not accept payment to even cover the mailing charges. I will definitely go back there and I urge everyone to stop here for good food and amazing hospitality.

My husband and son (2.5 years) ate there for breakfast. I was at a conference and couldn't go, BUT they brought me back pumpkin bread. OMG. BEST PUMPKIN BREAD OF MY LIFE. Such a cute cafe. I want to go back for the trout dinner one day! It is now on my bucket list.

My favorite breakfast in the middle of nowhere in the mountains is hands down the Log Cabin Cafe in Silvergate Montana. Super friendly an
helpful staff, home cooked quality, Lori the owner is superb. No matter what you order, ADD A SLICE IF PUMPKIN BREAD!!!! It’s heaven
Plan your trip around breakfast here!
