Comet Coffee

Absolutely the best coffee in town! Always friendly, always super consistent, and the best pastries. Can't go wrong with a croissant and an iced latte! I've loved how well they delt with covid protocols, they made getting a coffee an extremely nice treat during quarantine! Thank you comet for your excellent service!

Had zucchini with feta quiche and Manhattan Colombian coffee. Both were amazing and staff was super friendly!

I love this place! Preorder is the way to go if you want treats because they go fast, and the coffee is dependably amazing. The staff are some of the friendliest around 😄

I supported this coffee shop frequently throughout COVID. However, my first time coming in after restrictions were lifted, I was treated rudely by the assistant manager Katie, as I had ordered something that was an option as stated by the description but they didn't actually have in stock which I could not have known. Overall, I think they should be kinder towards their customers and didn't feel like my business was valued here.

Edit 12/2021: Years later, my opinion hasn't changed. I still hold a deep love for Comet Coffee. The staff has changed, as things always do - but the quality and talent hasn't.

My love for Comet Coffee knows no bounds. I've been going for about 3 years now, and never once have I had anything that wasn't delicious.

They do a wonderful job of making sure everyone who walks through their door gets exactly what they want. The baristas are knowledgeable, passionate, and talented. The pastries are rich and deeply satisfying. There is a drink on the menu for everyone.

Do yourself a favor and go - walk in, talk to these stellar people, and have a seat. You'll be glad you did.

I've worked as a barista at a few different places, and had my fair share of espresso and iced lattes hanging out at other coffee shops to study and do work. Comet BY FAR, has the best coffee AND pastries (especially those croissants!) I have ever had, in St. Louis or in any other state. They excel at almost everything they try. And although I wish they'd open another location so it wouldn't always be so busy when I came, I think the secret to their constant quality is the fact they only have one location that they focus all their efforts on. I can't deny it works. And I love it. I hope they never change. Thank you for the excellent service and the delicious offerings.

The espresso based drinks are sublime and they have their own croissanterie (hello buttery bliss), BUT what makes this place exceptional is their ability to connect with their customers DURING A PANDEMIC. I have been so impressed with finesse with which my drinks are prepared and how every person that I have interacted with has made me remember what it was like to have community with my local businesses. Highly recommend

Comet Coffee is a legit pour of the finest light roast coffees in town. Truly world-class coffees to go with a real bakery that smells as great as it tastes! I was back home in STL and stayed at the hotel across the street, so I was here everyday for a new & different pour. It was as good as anything I’ve had in Seattle, SF, LA, etc. Coffee aficionados will thrive at this humble local spot!

They only allow online ordering at this time. The website is clunky and not user friendly. The double shot flavored latte is significantly more expensive then other coffee houses.When I arrived to the final payment screen, it automatically added a tip. It is insulting to me as a customer to have a tip already added to my bill and not one person has made direct contact.

Also, 15 minute wait for a latte?

I don't think I will come back here, not because of coffee, but because of a bad customer experience. There are plenty of other independent coffee shops to visit.
