Our first and probably last time ordering from here. Their take-out system needs serious improvement. Placed an order and waited outside right in front of the restaurant. We still had not received our food after waiting for nearly an hour so we went back inside for an update only to be told that they had made three attempts to look for us and call our name with our order. We did not see a worker with our food or ever hear our name called, so that is a flat out lie. The food itself had good flavor, but it was cold and soggy. (They did not even offer to make us a fresh batch of food due to their mistake). Overpriced too. Would not recommend unless they fix their flawed ordering system. There are much better restaurant options in Grand Marais.

Amazing service and the food is delicious! I come here frequently and anyways enjoy it.

So for Grand Marais, I will give this place five stars. Both the counter cashier and the gentleman delivering food from the kitchen were cheerful and helpful, something I really appreciate. The prices are fair for Grand Marais, and you do get quite a lot of food with your order!
There is quite a diversity of preparations for fish & chips, and being a big fan of particular types, I checked out the photos on Google first. This breaded-fish style seems to be common & well loved in Minnesota (in fact I found every other restaurant in Grand Marais also serves this lightly breaded & fried style).
Unfortunately I am a fan of the battered & fried style, so I was out of luck. I think Fisherman's Daughter did an excellent job on the fish I had -- not too dry or too oily or anything like that. The beer battered fries were excellent as well -- maybe someday they will prepare fish this way too? I can only hope. I would come back for the fries!
I also ordered the maple bacon cheese curds. Cheese curds were very good, but the maple syrup takes away from the crispy texture. I would recommend getting the plain version; I wish I had ordered them instead.
I ate on the deck, which was lovely, and watching sailboats added to the I'm-in-Grand-Marais experience. Restroom was also clean, for those curious.
All in all, a very positive experience! I probably wouldn't go back due to my preference for battered fish, but if I did, I'd go when they aren't busy, and then order fries & a drink and sit on the deck.

Excellent white fish with chips and tacos!

Their fish and chip baskets were a fun local treat with some of the best fries we’ve ever had. The smoked fish by the pound was delicious.

If you're vegetarian, ask about the incog-meat-o. It's actually really good! I'm not a fish person, but my friend says the fish is amazing. There are GF and vegetarian options. Enjoy!!

The fish tacos were excellent!! Great view of the harbor. Salmon and trout dip is amazing. So is the other smokes fish. Would definitely go back here.

Wonderful Fish & Chips (Herring) for myself and Fish Tacos (Whitefish) my wife. Both excellent, we ate it at The Pincushion Overlook with a beautiful view of Lake Superior.
