Nice Grand Marias vibes on a lovely August evening. No wait which drew us when the rest of the town was hopping.
Deli style operation inside. Self seating on our visit. Two large tables inside (seat 6?) and a small table or two and some bar stools. Back patio has a few tables as well in addition to picnic tables out front.
Bathroom nicely appointed and quirky. This one has candles and a STARING seagull.
We had the fish and chips. The fish and fries were good but not great. Hoped for a little better for $16 but that’s ok - paying for the location. Service was good.

The food was delightful...the fish was perfectly lightly battered and the crab fries were seasoned to perfection. Service was fantastic and the atmosphere was warm and friendly.

Fish and Chips were super good. I had white fish and Walleye. Had the smoked fish chowder which was basic which is what a chowder should be. Awesome. Cool gift shop. Cool little spot. I'll be back.

Amazing. Great food, great view, friendly staff. If they have the herring, get it. I'd never had it before, and it was delicious. The maple bacon cheese curds were very tasty too.

Tried the herring also but the walleye was better

Had the Smoked Salmon Chowder again...sooooo good. Also, the Maple Bacon Cheese Curds....these should be illegal...absolutely addicting!

This is my favorite place to eat in Grand Marais. The food is excellent, plus you get a lake view while you are eating. The fish and chips are my personal favorite. They are never greasy and they always leave me satisfied!

We were driving up the North Shore today. I found this place on Yelp and thought it would be a good place to stop for lunch.
Bonus: if you check in on Yelp, you get a free cup of soup!
We got two fish baskets. One with Superior Whitefish and battered fries and one with Superior Herring and cheese curds. For our soups we got the lobster bisque and the smoked trout chowder.
I liked both of the fish baskets. I might have preferred the Herring slightly, but they tasted quite similar. The fries were great as were there cheese curds. Generous portions on the sides as well.
Both of the soups were pretty good. I think I had a slight preference for the lobster bisque.
This is a great stop for some fresh fish and chips!
