Medicocre (at best) food and overpriced.

The back patio was nice and they allow dogs out there, so… we would return based on that. :) The staff was very friendly.

We had the fried herring platter and the fish tacos.

The fried herring was decent - slightly dry, but edible. The fish was very thin, maybe overcooked or maybe that’s just the fish. But, not terrible.

The fish tacos were drenched in slaw and sauce. It was hard to even discern that the slaw and sauce were two separate things. I ended up scraping all of that off and just eating the fish. If I’d known how they were served I would have ordered the sauce and slaw on the side or just ordered something different.

By far the best place we've eaten at within the area. We had take out and brought our food back to the hotel, which was probably a good thing because I wouldn't shut up about how good the crab fries are. They are my new favorite food. We ordered and browsed the store while we waited, and it's a good thing the food came quickly because I couldn't stop finding things to buy. Musts: crab fries, cheesecake with lingonberries on top (drool), walleye if they have it available that day. Yum! I highly recommend visiting if you want hot, fresh, fast, delicious food.
Also, Katie, you and the cooks were gems. Love the print and the fact you were there to tell me some backstory behind it. Thank you!

We ate a late lunch at The Fisherman’s Daughter located at 418 MN-61, Grand Marais, MN 55604 and it was fantastic!
The atmosphere is amazing with the restaurant and deck situated overlooking Lake Superior!
For our appetizer we devoured a basket of cheese curds, which we all loved.
We also tried a bowl of the soup of the day, which was Lake Trout Chowder and it was yummy!
For our entrees we shared two Fish and Chips Baskets with delicately breaded walleye fingers in both baskets and fries in one basket and tater tots in the second basket. The walleye fingers we’re out of this world delicious!!! The coleslaw was tasty, and the fries and tater tots were good, but not great.
To drink we tried a can Nixie organically flavored watermelon mint sparkling water and a can of Duluth Cider Gitch Semi-sweet cider. We liked them both so much, we looked them up online to see where we could purchase a case of each.
They also sell fresh caught fish such as Salmon, Lake Trout, and White fish, plus smoked Salmon, Lake Trout, and White Fish.
They also have a nice gift shop with T-shirts and all sorts of Lake Superior memorabilia.
We recommend going between 2 pm and 4pm in order to avoid the rush, as this place is superrrrrr popular!

Neat little fish shop in Grand Marais. Would have loved to eat inside or on the a patio, but it was cold out and they don't allow dogs inside so we took our order to go. Had the bacon/maple cheese curds which were so good and the fish tacos. Would go back if ever in the area again.

Loved the fish and chips here...I chose the herring and my partner had the walleye nuggets. Both were very good, but I would recommend the walleye for the very nominal upcharge. Very worth it! Great fries as well. I would imagine all of the smoked fish is delicious as can be. Surely eat here for a fresh light lunch.

Awesome food. Picturesque location on the banks of lake Superior. Fast and friendly service. The owner also happens to be a great photographer and you can get some cool tips Wildlife spotting from them!

Had a great time here! We had the Amazing Canadian Walleye and herring chowder... Wow was that amazing! Freshly caught fish and delicious chowder and the courteous staff made this stop terrific! A Must see on your North Shore trip!

Delicious Fish & Chip, fresh Whitefish and Lake Trout locally caught! Enjoyed as we basked in the sun on the deck watching the bay of Superior! Well worth the stop!

Such a lovely addition to the Grand Marais food scene! The fresh-caught fish & chips were so good, but the maple bacon buttermilk cheese curds take the cake. Don’t sleep on this spot!

Had an amazing clam strip dinner here. You order at the counter and then scramble for a seat. We were initially stuck inside on a beautiful night but “upgraded” to a nice outdoor table when it opened up.
