Great food. We dined on the patio and had halibut reubens and blueberry pie for dessert. The pie had lime zest and crunchy sugar - delicious.

Great service and good food! The blueberry pie was out of this world! Loved the GF Lobster Mac too. Be sure to visit while in Bar Harbor.

Ok food, good service, excellent location and across from paid municipal parking. Ribs were oily but Jon's fries were great. The big issues are that it can be very noisy (one obnoxiously loud group was seated next to two families with children - NOT cool) and the wait for a table can be forever.

Great margaritas! Steak frites were absolutely perfect, burger on ciabatta amasing. We also had halibut and it was perfect! Wonderful place and really good service!

The first two things my husband tried to order the restaurant was out of… but the server didn’t even offer up anything else they were out of so we just shot in the dark
Ordered two burgers, a lobster roll with clam chowder, and a pulled pork sandwich.
I opted for a gluten free bun on the lobster roll. The ciabatta and GF buns on all the sandwiches were rubbery and dry..like they had been microwaved. I didn’t even end up eating the GF bun because it was so hard.
The burgers were tasteless and not juicy at all. I asked her about upgrading my sides for the lobster roll and she said it only came with the chowder…it showed up with chips and pickle anyways..so I would have liked to do a salad which I would have paid more for…
Server barely came back to the table, never refilled drinks until I asked.
I asked our server for a Diet Coke..she brought me a Diet Pepsi..if I would have known y’all served Pepsi and not coke I wouldn’t have even ordered it and paid $3 for it.
$120 for dinner that wasn’t even good was incredibly disappointing.

Stopped by for a quick lunch between hikes, and boy were we happy! We were drooling at some of the yummy drinks and wished we weren’t going to hike otherwise we definitely would have indulged! We had the crab cakes and some lobster Mac! Oh my they were sooo good! Definitely put it on your list while traveling to bar harbor!

We were pleasantly surprised to get a two-top outside at 6pm with no wait. The watermelon cucumber margaritas were spot on, perfect for an unusually hot day and not too sweet. Our server, Travis, was friendly, helpful, and attentive, and the food was very good to excellent. I ordered the grilled halibut and it was cooked perfectly and in the top 10% of halibut dishes I've ever had. My wife ordered the fish tacos and they were very good, but the halibut was better.

Best Food of our Trip

Side Street Café was the best place that my party of 5 ate at on our entire 4-day visit to Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park. We ordered drinks, appetizers, entrees, and shared a slice of blueberry pie for dessert- theirs was also one of the better pies of the trip. Everyone enjoyed their food. Nothing needed salt or pepper. The lobster stew is rich and chock-full of lobster, and my lobster grilled cheese was perfectly melted, toasted, and buttery. The seafood mac & cheese is a huge portion and even has freshly shaved parmesan topping it off. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the cheese sauce had a great texture. It should probably be ordered as a half portion or split between two people, it was so huge. Our server was fun, fast, and friendly. The food came out SO fast. We talked about this meal the whole trip. We almost went back the next day, but we forced ourselves to try new places. The next time I come to Bar Harbor this will be the first place I revisit.

We got the haddock sandwich with sweet potato fries, firehouse burger with Mac n cheese and the “bear trap”, which was an amazing flourless chocolate cake.
They had something called “horseradish demi” with the steak dishes that we were curious about but did not want anything steak so the server got us a side of that sauce, and it went with everything! They should totally bottle and sell that as a sauce.
Loved the off season relaxed ambience (but still busy) a lot more than the crazy busy summers here.

It's a nice restaurant. Chairs are not comfortable since they are high chairs. Food was okay but lack of seasoning. My son loved their rice and beans.
