Side Street Cafe

The best meal we had on our entire trip. Appetizers were great. Clam chowder and lobster rolls were A1. Staff was friendly and courteous. No complaints. Highly recommend the blueberry pie a la mode.

We saw this cafe recommended on a blog about good restaurants in Bar Harbor, and we were not disappointed!
We arrived during happy hour, when drinks and drafts are $5.
We were seated and served very quickly.
(Often the restaurant is VERY busy, but you can get on the seating list, and check the time of your potential wait for a table by checking in online on their website- really convenient!)

The service was excellent!
We liked the many menu choices, and reasonable prices.
We settled on the Haddock Rueben sandwich and the lobster Mac and cheese, and both were absolutely delicious!
The food portions were great, also. We did not have enough room left for their Blueberry Pie….
I had the local Bar Harbor Pure ale (dark and not bitter), and my wife had two delicious watermelon margaritas.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant and we will definitely return!

This was one of the best restaurant we came across in bar harbor. The service and food were equally great. We ordered crab cakes , bangin shrimp , Buffalo Mac and cheese and lobster roll and everything tasted excellent!!! Will definitely recommend coming here.

We’re happy we came across this place for lunch during our day in Bar Harbor. Our waiter was very friendly and the restaurant had a nice, air-conditioned atmosphere (it was 90+ degrees that day). We ordered a blueberry basil margarita pitcher that was the right combination of tart and sweet. I recommend the lobster roll and the Caesar salad with lobster. And save some room for a slice of Maine blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Overall, a great way to spend the afternoon.

Excellent restaurant with a full service bar and hearty menu of sandwiches, salads, burgers, mac & cheese, and lobster dishes. They have a dog friendly outdoor patio and excellent service.

Food is delicious. Beer collection is good. Should try the crab dip. Lobster is all peeled and just the cooked meet is served.

So gooodddddddddd had the steak and fries and it was delicious. My friends ordered the lobster roll and it was yummy !

Ordered the lobster Mac and grilled halibut. Both were amazing! The portions are huge so keep that in mind. I ordered the mini Mac and had a hard time finishing it.

They were missing more items on their menu then they had available. Most of the staff was friendly and food came out quickly. Food was heavy and I was not sure there could be too much butter.

We went for Sep long weekend, they was wait time. Food and drinks are really good. Friendly staff and fast service.
