Side Street Cafe

Yum. We visited here for a "light" lunch after a sea-kayaking adventure and it was soo good. My husband loved his lobster mac, and I enjoyed my salad with salmon. Service was great too! They do have a small outside bar seating area that looked to be a popular option too!

First, well-staffed & open for business in Bar Harbor, ME while lots of other dining establishments aren't. Second, staffed by GREAT staff! Sat at the bar with hubs & ordered drinks & apps. Crab dip among the best I've ever had, and they made a gluten adjustment for me. Bourbon sour also among the best I've had. They moved large & small families through effortlessly, AND everyone had a smile on their face. Beautiful outdoor & indoor dining. I would go back, and back!

The waiters were really nice and charming. The lobster roll was $36 for 6 oz with a bowl of clam chowder and chips. It hit the spot for me and my partner. The lobster roll was very big and delicious! The clam chowder was also very good!

Great atmosphere with lots of outdoor seating; pairs well with the friendly hostess/wait staff. The food came very quickly both times we ate here. Recommend anything with their home made cheese. The cheese steak was excellent. Chips and queso were solid starter. I got the Mac’n cheese with corn beef, tomatoes and pickled jalapeños. Probably sounds like an odd pairing but jalapeños added a unique flavor to the dish; highly recommend! Mac’n cheese portions were large, so good choice if you’re hungry.
The Cuban was just average. Bottom roll was soggy and nothing special, especially compared to other dishes. Still 5 stars for other dishes and overall experience!

Cool, fun place for a vacation town. Lobster mac is great. Mac and cheese is nice and mild letting the lobster shine. Very fresh sweet lobster. Steak sandwich was tasty with great chipotle Mayo. Awesome service.

Food: Very large portions! I had the BBQ ribs w/ Mac n cheese. The ribs were amazing and extremely soft.

Service: The waitress was extremely friendly and responsive, with small wait times.

Overall, good place to visit in the area

We were here on Sunday around 5pm. We ordered two beers, clam chowder, goat cheese salad, their fish tacos and lobster Mac and cheese. The service was great and very fast! The clam chowder had lots of flavor. The salad was amazing with lots of goat cheese. The lobster Mac and cheese had good amount of lobster and had great flavor. Fish tacos were alright, fish needed a bit more seasoning in my opinion. We ordered tres leches cake with mango and pineapple. It was my birthday so they added a candle for me. Overall great experience with great food. Will recommend this place!

Great place for a nice local lunch. The crab dip appetizer was out of this world, a must have. Server was chill and have good recommendations on the menu and other local spots.

I googled best blueberry pie and Side Street Cafe popped up. The reviews were spot on. The pie fantastic. We had to go back twice. Make sure it’s warm with a scoop of vanilla and order your own don’t share. You will want it all to yourself 🙂

My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant after exploring Acadia and it did not disappoint! We sat outside with picturesque twinkle lights and I sipped on an apple cider mocktail margarita while my husband had the Allegash White ale. We got the spinach artichoke dip which was so cheesy and delicious..the warm pita was YUM. We of course also had to get the lobster roll! A generous portion piled on a buttery brioche roll, the lobster was seasoned to perfection. The clam chowder was also SUPER flavorful. Overall, a charming and lovely experience out.
