I LOVE this place everything is on point. I cant resist their fish and chips. Everything is fresh and seasoned perfectly. The vibe is super cool great for date nights and so worth the drive.

What a delightful surprise for a couple of Brits traveling from IN to KY , when we came across Paynes. Absolutely delicious fish, chips and mushy peas, just as English as they come and a lovely cup of nice English tea. Thank you Adam for great service and making us feel so welcome 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Came in skeptical but did not disappoint. Had the fish and chips and the black bean and tomato soup. Great food and great service! A touch hard to find (north of the state highway and east of the interstate). Parking lot is a bit small. Cool little restaurant, but not a British Pub.

What an amazing meal. Who’d have imagined it was here in Indiana. Strangely enough the fish and chips were so so but the soup of the day and rest of the menu was on the spot

Went there for the first time today the one I've heard of this place for a long time. May really awesome place that stays true to really great food from Ireland/Scotland. Very unique dishes and reasonably priced.

From the greeter/seater to check time, everything was excellent. Added as a favorite stop for when we are traveling again in the area!
I loved their cucumber salad starter.

Visited with my aunt and family members, many of whom were vegetarian. Aside from slightly slow service (who doesn't have staffing issues these days), every thing we had was amazing! Waffles, dahl, soups, sandwiches... noone was disappointed. And the bean dip was delish!

A unique dining experience for North Central Indiana. An eclectic mix of British Pub fare, Currys, European standards and a fresh new look at American Comfort Food. They have recently added a new dinning room and a covered, outdoor seating area. There were at least 20 cars in the lot; but, we were seated immediately, given adequate time to peruse the menu, and immediately after ordering received our soups and salad choices. My wife and daughter had the fish and chips, my granddaughter ordered the deluxe burger and I opted for the grilled-cheese sandwich in tomato bisque. Everything was delicious.
Update - Stopped for lunch just as they opened (11:00 AM). There were three couples ahead of us.
Seated immediately and had bowl of Kettle Chips and Black Bean Dip to keep us sated until we received our beverages.
Lunch menu is pared down from dinner with an emphasis on Soup/Sandwich, Cod/Walleye filet and chips.
The restaurant is FULLY STAFFED with knowledgeable, intelligent, eager to please professional wait-people. A refreshing change from most "Roadhouse Food"!

We ate out on the patio. It was aesthetically delightful. The food was amazing. We had opted for this restaurant as we were turning into the cracker barrel. I am very glad we chose Payne’s instead!
