The Chocolate Moose

It’s no longer the cute little building with lines out to the street. But the new building definitely tips the hat to times gone by. The ice cream hasn’t changed and there are plenty of cool photos to remind you of what once was. A great way to change with the times but not forget the roots of the past.

The service is warm and portion is large, but the ice cream is not top notch.

That was a nice ice cream place in Bloomington, In. I enjoyed it, even though it was a lil chilly outside.

Oh God, we just moved away, and I miss this place already! Try the Lemon Custard ice cream in a shake - it's like no other shake I've ever had, in a good way. Goodbye, Chocolate Moose - You shall be missed.

Without a doubt this is the best ice cream place on the planet. Love the atmosphere and the feel. Even tho we all miss the old style I think it's safe to say it's number1 on my lists of places to go if your visiting Bloomington Indiana.

I'm lactose intolerant and have almost entirely given up ice cream. Sometimes I'll deal with the discomfort and pain for some *really* good dairy ice cream, but hey, Chocolate Moose has the best of both worlds! Vegan ice cream, so no pain for me, but no worries about missing out on good ice cream. Their vegan flavors are wonderful, and perfect for those of us who can't have dairy. My favorite is the grasshopper. Thanks for keeping us dairy-free ice cream lovers in mind when creating the menu!

The Chocolate Moose is a wonderful little shop. I love all their homemade ice creams and even their regular soft serve is somehow superior. There is always a long line - which is proof of the quality - but it goes quickly and the atmosphere is that of a picnic. The staff are friendly and it always seems like they're having a great time.

Try the grasshopper homemade. Or the black raspberry. Or the blondie. Or, or, or . . . the list goes on.

This is another place that pops up on my feet that I have never ate at I just deliver orders from. So the best I can say is the employees that work here are always very polite and helpful. And the food looks delicious but I cannot have any of it

Yummy ice cream and the kids love the eyeballs that they put on. Their new location is really well done. The outdoor seating is nice and it is also great that they have bathrooms now. A must stop in Bloomington.

I ordered a root beer float, but their soda machine stopped working when making my order. They used one of the fancy bottles of root beer that they had instead of making me order something else. Best root beer float I've ever had, along with the best service.

The atmosphere is like a less-packed Starbucks. There are outlets at every table.
