The Chocolate Moose

I ordered a mint milkshake. Then I had to explain to the girl how to make a mint milkshake. Then I got the worst mint milkshake ever. They put so much mint flavor into it as to make it inedible. Tasted like concentrated mouthwash. So I told the girl that it was inedible and she took it and walked away. Didn't offer to get me a new one. Didn't offer to give me my money back. Just walked away. I will never go back.

besides having the best ice cream around, they are open late while everyone in town closes at 8 or 9pm. in summer you would think others would stay open later... especially if they saw how busy the moose is after 9pm. super friendly staff, perfect downtown location! if you haven't been there you really need to!

Yum 😋 a local must have . It has been in this location since I moved here in 2002. We moved and came back . The spot got a facelift but chocolate moose was here to make my belly smile. Now I can share it with my kids. Everything here is a good pick

I've been going to the chocolate moose since I was a young kid. They have since moved locations in the past few years but have still maintained the same quality and service they are known for. The ice cream is very delicious as well. I do have to note that their vegan flavors are sweetened with agave syrup so that's something to remember if you're sensitive to it.

The ice cream is good but they do not have the nicest employees.. the last 2 times me and my family has went the employees was very rude and made it hard to enjoy. Hopefully it is just a summer thing. Other than that we really enjoy the ice cream.

I used to love this place, but the pricing is outrageous and the last time I came here I had a bunch of tiny particles and chunks of ice in my soft serve. Absolutely disgusting. Threw my cone away, couldn't even finish that. Second time that's ever happened at an ice cream place! The truth is, chocolate moose saw its best days when they had the hut in the middle of the lot! All downhill since then. Clean your disgusting machines! Probably wouldn't even come here if somebody paid for me because the last time was just that disgusting. I want ice cream, not dirt! Plus the prices.... Never in my life should I be throwing away an ice cream cone I paid $4-5 for. For that price, it should be the best in the whole county, which it definitely is not. Maybe it used to be, but that was over a decade ago. The workers here are at least nicer than the ones at Hartzells, but obviously are lazy because my ice cream has come out filled with dirt more than once

The ice cream is amazing! Our household can't get enough. We always get it several times a month. Pro tip: go in person and pay in cash and the overall cost is much cheaper! Sometimes $15 as opposed to $30!

Excellent homemade ice cream! We tried moose dream and blue moon. Very fast service even though they were a little busy.

Really good ice cream including unique/local originals. The waffle cones were a little stale.

The Chocolate Moose has fantastic options for all tastes: soft serve, dole whip, ice cream sandwiches, awesome flavors of hard scoop and so much more. This local spot is truly a treat!
