Support local business! Hands down the best homemade ice cream in Bloomington, Brown County & surrounding areas. It's worth the extra few dollars to experience the real thing - of course, if you're in the mood for a more classic soft serve those are excellent as well. Have literally never heard anyone complain about this place.

I love stopping by here with my daughter! We'd normally walk there from our home in the Bryan Park neighborhood, but now since we've moved it's just a quick trip into town. Service has always been great and the ice cream is delicious! So many options and they are all awesome!! Ask for "eyes" on your scoop or cone for the kiddos...it's fun. Mmmmm......be back soon!!

Paid around $10 for two cups of brown county coffee ice cream. I used to love the brown county coffee ice cream!

Today, one cup was half melted liquid when they served it, the other cup had less than the two scoops ordered. The consistency of the ice cream was whipped (??) and basically completely melted by the time I walked like 3min to my car. Pretty disappointing. I wonder if they changed the recipe of the ice cream?

I've tried almost every flavor and I have not come across anything I did not love here! This is the BEST ice cream... I have family in Bloomington, Indiana, and they know I MUST visit the Chocolate Moose every time I come here. This is also the only vegan ice cream I have ever loved! I am not vegan, but some of my family members are. I enjoy everything about this place, and the new shop is even more fun than ever. As it is now an indoor location I can visit with comfort at any time of the year. Yes!!!

The ice cream was really really good. The place it's beautiful. My only opinion is that they need to change the way they give the order to costumers. Maybe implement a system were every ticket has a number and call number by number. They just place the ice creams on the shelf and someone took my ice cream so I had to wait again for my order to be completed. But the ice cream was delicious.

A local favorite. If you live in the area and haven’t visited, you’re definitely missing out. The ice cream is fantastic and whats more, the food offerings are also quite a treat!

They also occasionally partner up with other local shops, like a cookie company, to make even more delicious treats.

To the management team of The Chocolate Moose,
I’m a local in town and have been a regular to the Moose for over 25 years/since I was a camper at Kid City. I’ve always loved the consistency that the Moose delivers as well as the cheerfulness even when flooded with customers.
I love the design of the new building and is so much more comfortable to actually sit and enjoy your ice cream now.
To my disappointment - every time I’ve been to the new location, the staff seems annoyed with customers, the product is not consistent and I’ve been left wondering if I want to ever go back.
I have gotten root beer floats for years and love them. I wouldn’t say I’m picky, but when I went Friday the cup was a little over 1/2 full of ice cream, no root beer and was the wrong size. When I went up to get the correct size, they seeming just put my same order from the small cup into a medium. I had to ask for more root beer. The time before, it was the opposite - maybe about 4 spoon fulls of ice cream and mostly soda. My husband has also been disappointed with his orders and ordered something different each time.
Again, the aesthetics of the new space is awesome, however the customer service is so sub-par it doesn’t even feel like the same business. I am reluctant to try it again, but looking forward to some changes when if/I come back.

Went there with my boyfriend, his son, and my mother after a tasty meal at Bub's Burgers and Ice cream. They were pretty busy, but the line went fairly fast and as always, their ice cream was delicious. All together we got, tag along in a waffle cone, blue moon in a bowl, bacon !?! Sunday, and four sodas of different flavors. All of it was delicious and the service was good. Currently, there is only outside seating due to covid.

Absolutely loved this place! Great atmosphere with friendly employees. Wide variety of ice cream & slushies, coffees, snacks, food, drinks. I got the mint ice cream with almost like soft chocolate brownies in a milkshake. My friend got this chocolate dipped banana. Definitely will be returning. The prices are great for the quality of ice cream.
