Absolutely never go here. I am a local, I support local, even when our tourist are here. I am also a former business owner. We sat down and ordered coffee to start and my wife‘s coffee mug had fresh lipstick on it ….my wife doesn’t wear lipstick. Obviously this cup was not washed from the previous customer. The waitress rudely just said that sometimes the dishwasher can’t get it off. I showed her how I could run my finger through it because it was so fresh. She didn’t apologize just walked in the back. So out comes manager guy, obviously he had been tipped off about the situation, and asks us if we have a question. I said no, and then told him what I had told the waitress. He gives me the same dishwasher story but with my aggression and attitude. Again didn’t apologize, and just angry asked if he can get us something else. I said no, I want to know why you don’t clean your dishes. He ignored me and now almost shouting at me asked if he could get us something else. I said maybe we’ll just go somewhere else and he responded with good and stormed away.

Now, I would have been fine with this lipstick situation if someone would have owned it and simply apologized. But apparently that is too much to ask. So, now I will tell everyone I know about this and only hope that the customer service gets better because no one deserves to be treated like that. Or it can close. I’d be fine with that too.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I’ve never left a review before, let alone a negative one. From the moment we walked in no one even greeted us. We had a party of five and they sat us at the bar stools, even though we wanted to wait for a table. The server was so rude and spoke at us as if we were an inconvenience. She slammed down the silverware and didn’t even give us a chance to look at our menus before taking out drink order. Terrible customer service. A table opened up and we asked to be moved. Another server basically told us no and it was too much trouble. There were no other parties waiting. Again, at this point we only have our drinks. My mother then got up and stood next to the table and said we’d wait. The sever then yells over to the table buser and says that he’d better clear it because we are trying to move. I just don’t understand what the issue here was. We would have left, but my grandmother has a hard time walking and she needed to sit down. The food here is adequate. Nothing to go crazy over. They then brought our check about 10 min after we got our food. This was one of the worst eating experiences I’ve had. Terrible customer service. Servers are not sincere. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Decent food. Staff were unwilling to push two tables together to accommodate a group of 6, so our group ate at two separate tables within ~5 feet of each other. We asked if we could slide them together and was told no. Rather disappointing since we had three couples travel into Galena for the day. It would have been nice to eat with each other instead of isolating one couple.

Lovely place, friendly staff, great locals. Open air seating as well as indoor tables and diner style counter seating. Large portions and great coffee.

Our "go to" for breakfast when visiting. Great coffee, pancakes and biscuits and gravy.

My husband and I just stopped in for breakfast. It was busy, and there was only one server working. I wish I could remember his name, but he killed it. He was on top of everything and making sure everyone had what they needed. If he was overwhelmed he certainly didn't show it one bit, being kind and attentive to everyone in the place. Not to mention the food came out hot and quick and it was delicious!!!

Nice cafe. Waitress named Soul was a 💎 gem.

We were looking for a reasonable breakfast place before leaving town and this one fit the bill. Located in an old building in the Historic District right in the center of town. We were greeted immediately by the host who sat us and offered coffee before we could even thank him. It's a non-pretentious cafe with spartan tables, chairs, and booths against the wall. The walls are decorated with famous posters and prints befitting a breakfast establishment. Our server, Katy, was friendly and efficient. We both had omelets, hashbrowns and toast and everything was hot, filling, and delicious. And moderately priced considering you're in a big-time tourist zone. We were highly impressed at how spotless and sanitary the restrooms were. That usually relates to the conditions in the kitchen, in my opinion. Not the classiest restaurant in town, but they have the quaint small town ambience we were looking for.

Waited an hour for hour for our food. Server was unhelpful
, just had an attitude.

If you're looking for a typical greasy spoon? It works. I had the country benedict, the eggs were well poached, the biscuit was just okay, the sausage salty and the cream gravy reminded me of something you'd get out of a can or pouch. I didn't get "from scratch" from this place at all. Staff were okay, kind of short with their attitude overall (I only went once, so it's hard to judge too much - might just be an off day, to be fair!) If it's me? I pick Otto's Place over Victory Cafe.
