Victory Café

Very cute place! We got there pretty early, so we got a table right away. They had a variety of options for all different pallets. Prices were reasonable, and food was filling and delicious. The waitress we had was super friendly, and the food came quickly.

Went in on a Tuesday morning around 10. Food was decent but when we ordered a cinnamon roll, boy was that thing hard. I guess you just have to come in extra early to get a warm and soft roll, at least I hope. The one we had felt as if it was left in the oven or was a bad batch. Well it didn’t leave a good impression on us for our first time trying it.

The eggs Benedict was excellent, the hash browns and bacon was standard. The waiter was very good at keeping my coffee topped off, a major plus in my opinion. Prices seem acceptable. Overall a nice, casual place for breakfast.

Great food, loved their creme Brulee French toast. I think their kitchen is a little over stretched with the out door seating. During peak times it can take a while to get your food.

I ate at Victory Cafe over the Columbus day weekend. The hostess was not the friendliest and the food was standard. The location is convenient but if you're looking for great food and friendly staff, go to Otto's Place.

Hands down, my favorite place to eat in Galena!!!! Best breakfast around, great coffee, amazing Cinnamon rolls!! Delicious lunch options! Great all around, family friendly spot! Nice atmosphere!!

We got there and there was a wait, so since this was our first time (AND LAST TIME) there, we thought it must be good since people are waiting...wrong!!

Not only did we sit down and have to wait 15 minutes to be greeted, but after we ordered the two tables next to us were sat, ate their food, and left in the time it took to get our meals. To make it worse, our food come out COLD and wrong! Not sure how a cheese omelet turned into a veggie omelet, but it happened. After waiting for so long, we just dealt with the bad food and service and left. It was almost as though the food had been frozen and then heated up. The eggs were rubbery, but that’s most likely because they were cold.
The coffee was sub par, the condiments and syrup were watered down, the orange juice was made with powder (clumps of tang or something were floating in the glass), and there were flies everywhere! We should have known it was a bad choice when walking through the front door, FOR ALL TO SEE, was a can of Raid and flies.
I mean, come on, it’s Galena! There’s people flocking there every weekend, you can’t tell me they can’t afford to have seats that don’t have duct tape holding them together, real orange juice, hire an exterminator, and have decent servers.
It was a very disappointing visit and such a terrible experience. This was definitely not a victorious choice for breakfast.

Seems to be a bit of a trend with people not being greeted when they walk in. My wife and I were all but ignored when we walked in. After we finally got menus and placed our order it took quite a while before we got our food. The food was ok, not great but ok.

The food was really good, either that or I was extremely hungry because I did wait over 45 mins when I was told there was only a 5-10 min wait. Look I get it, be patient but the service was really bad, and I had such high hopes for the place. I didn't even get a chance to take a picture of my food I scarfed it down so fast. Sorry you'll just have to take my word for it.

Stopped in for breakfast, had the farmers omelette, very good with an order of potatoes, they were so crunchy and delicious. Great service too. This is a great place to dine when you are in Galena.
