Afro Joes Coffee & Tea

The best coffee spot on the south side! You can see your food made fresh and the coffee is smooth without bitterness. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. I couldn’t decide on what I wanted to get and the cashier made some helpful suggestions and was happy with my meal. They are very clean and the environment is relaxing with good vibes. I have driven out of my way for a coffee here because the food and service are top notch. They also have an outdoor dog space if you bring your furry friend.

On a whim I walked over to Afro Joe's this morning; best whim of my week. Admittedly, sometimes my excitement gets the best of me. I may or may not have (hint... I did...) bought a breakfast sandwich, a coffee drink, and a cinnamon roll despite having a tiny appetite in the mornings. Luckily I choose to live my life without regrets! 😁 So, I've downed my Iced Caramel Macchiato with Salted Caramel, as suggested by the bubbly barista. After my first sip I think my eyes bugged out of my face. As I rushed back over to the counter to tell her, "oh my God, the salted caramel" she said, "see! I won't steer you wrong!" and I believe her. In fact, my coffee life is now completely in her hands and I can't wait to stop back in and order whatever she suggests. On to the sandwich. You guys, that mayo. So simple an addition to a breakfast sandwich and so perfect. But also, the brioche bun. But also the gooey cheese pouring out the sides and perfectly cooked eggs. So, I think it's safe to say that stopping halfway through as my stomach dost protest took almost more willpower than I could muster (and only proved possible due to my enlightened state after sipping Salted Caramel coffee on my walk home). And then comes the cinnamon roll. You guys. I only took one bite because I'm now fully caffeinated and a little high on (Salted Carmel) sugar. Finishing the roll will be the highlight of my afternoon. Sweet, soft and simultaneously chewy, heavy enough on the cinnamon... delicious. And all of that is to say nothing of the warm and welcoming baristas, cooks, and aesthetic! There's a "Barking Lot" to drop off your pups on your way in so as not to disturb other patrons but allow you to walk over with your furry friend (I'll bring at least one pupper with next time)! There's city-centric and empowering art for sale on the walls. I was also told there's live music every Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm. I'll be sure to pop back over for it one of these days, sooner rather than later... I'll be back! Thank you, Afro Joe's, for brightening my morning!

I purchased a large coffee with a bacon & egg sandwich. The bacon was really thick and the bun was very soft. Yum yum. The coffee was very balanced. I will visit again for more items on the menu. The staff was very friendly.
Update: I tried the beef short rib grilled cheese. Scrumptious . Don't let the topping scare you. The pickled onions was a bonus to the flavors.

What an awesome place to visit! The staff there is fun and friendly. The food is awesome, I loved the Bronzeville sandwich. The sandwiches have fun neighborhood names. I got a coffee drink that was so delicious I had to take the lid off to be sure I drank the last drop! If I didn't have to go into the office I would have stayed there the rest of the day. The music was awesome and created an amazing vibe. Be sure to check it out!

Delicious new brew spot located on the south side. Its next to a excellent dentist office. They have lovely decor to go along with the brews. The avocado toast is absolutely delicious as is the Bronzville breakfast sandwich. Staff is super friendly and courteous almost like family. The food is made fresh so allow a little time. Will be returning to sample more of the menu . Online ordering is available.

I've been here a few times. Their coffee is so good, of course. But today I FINALLY had time to stop and eat. I've been seeing tons of reviews of their Southside short rib grilled cheese. SO GOOD. Crunchy, cheesy, loaded with meat, no skimping here. It's served with some homemade dill veggies to add to your sandwich. I recommend asking for spicy mayo too. The atmosphere is friendly and delightful the way small businesses are. On Saturdays they have live music (hope to get there someday) and they feature artists' work on the walls! Love love love.

Great mocha and the turkey breakfast sandwich was 🔥 🔥 🔥. Nice ambience and plenty of seating. Can’t speak on the speed, but wi-if is here as well. Seems like it would be a real chill environment to get some work/school done. This is a Beverly gem. Welcome to the neighborhood!!!

I always enjoy coming to Afro Joe's and really enjoy the staff and the coffee and the food. Especially the coffee because I'm particular and I've always gotten a good, well made drink. It's all on point for me as well as the overall vibe. It brings so much positivity to my day and I'm glad there are spaces like Afro Joe's that I look forward to visiting again and again.

I've been a huge fan of Afro Joes since their Auburn Gresham location, and although I no longer live in the city, I don't mind traveling 15 minutes to this Beverly location for great coffee! There are so many highlights: nice brew with several flavor options, an array of delicious breakfast sandwiches, and a spacious seating area with a bunch of natural light.

One thing that really stands out is how the service is always consistent. S/O to Aisha for warm greetings, and the entire staff for curating a warm, welcoming environment. Good job, Kendall!

Afro Joes was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! This was my first time visiting and I was thoroughly impressed! From the excellent customer service from the owners to the delicious made to order food and coffee! I ordered the short ribs of beef grilled cheese and I sampled my sista friend's avocado toast and OMG!!!! Both were served with a side of cucumber tomato salsa! FYE!!!! My carmel macchiato beats the major chains hands down! I will surely be back very soon!
