By far, one of THE best chai's I have ever had. And beautiful to boot!

The coffee here is top notch! I love that they rotate through roasters all around the country, and the staff are knowledgeable about the roasts, thoughtful about the brewing methods, and friendly to the customers. All around, a fantastic place to get a cup of coffee!

Coffee isn’t as dark as I like, but the service was exceptional and the atmosphere is very welcoming.

I'm not a drinker on coffee. I love things but they cause me so much anxiety. Slow by Slow has a wide range of soothing teas, though that's the case. This coffee shop remains one of my favorites in downtown Boise and I hope it will last for a long time to come.

This place knows coffee! The employees are kind and professional. They make a great and reliably good espresso. They believe in what they do and aren't just filling in time for a paycheck. Thanks slow by slow, you stand out!

Great artisanal coffee for serious coffee aficionados. Nice inside space to sip coffee or a few tables out front. They have a few pastries to chose from as well.

Stupendously tasty coffee, crafted with extreme care and delivered with personal service. Love this place.

I love Slow by Slow. They have everything that I look for in a coffee shop: good atmosphere, great coffee, and friendly staff. They have really nice minimalist decor and furniture, with none of the surfaces being taken up by kitschy knick knacks like some cafes like to do.
They have a lovely rotating selection of beans, some of which are roasted locally, and often carry beans that you can purchase for home use that are also locally roasted. They’re very knowledgeable about the process, so if you’re ever worried about whether or not you might like something don’t be afraid to ask! Their always happy to help you find a drink you’ll love.
They also have nice locally baked treats available, though I have to admit I don’t generally get them myself.
Some other perks: free WiFi, numerous outlets, community seating or more individual tables/chairs, and the music is never overly loud or inappropriate, so it’s great for families.
Give these guys a try! Always in my top favorites in Boise.

I’ve been here several times and have always been impressed! I am a coffee fanatic, and while the goal is to try as many coffee shops as I can, I’m always lured back to Slow By Slow because I know I’ll leave happy. They possess a uniqueness that outshines many coffee shops in Boise, and the product is delicious! And yes, they really are slower than average joints but for good reason. You don’t get great espresso without having to be a little patient.
During my most recent visit I ordered an 8 ounce Demagorgon IV oatmilk latte. This was their speciality Halloween blend with beans from Brandywine Coffee Roasters (Wilmington, DE). The tasting notes read waffles, maple syrup, jam, peaches and butter. I tend to have my drinks served as lattes for the thick, creamy texture. I was blown away by how accurate the tasting notes described the brew. It was really rich, I could only really enjoy the drink through small sips with time in between. My husband got a Costa Rican brew that was not as tasteful but equally satisfying.
If there’s anyone looking for a coffee shop with a little pizzazz I highly recommend Slow by Slow. Not your average cup of joe!
