Went here for breakfast/lunch during the Scenic Railroad lay over. The food was AWESOME! French toast, a western omelette and even the bacon. Obviously high quality products with some love for cooking involved. The coffee was excellent, both hot and iced. The service was great. Order at the counter from very friendly staff and they give you a beeper to tell you when your food is ready. Very quick, especially with so many people from the train going there. GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!!

The menu looked promising although the sandwiches were around $15. The pbj was $7. Obviously, we showed up at a busy time because all the older lady cashier could say was “I’ve been here since 7am” and kept telling waiting customers they couldn’t stand and wait. She literally ran us off and we had nowhere to sit. Even if they didn’t expect others to be closed today, you would think they would be stocked. They were out of lots of menu items and places to sit. You would think a packed house would be a good thing for a business but she was obviously frustrated and rude. Saying “I’m not trying to be rude” doesn’t make a bad attitude not rude. We were told 20 mins and it was well over 30 mins. They were out of corn beef hash so I had to get pastrami. It was okay but not tender, covered in a purple slaw, and had a thousand island tasting sauce. I guess I was expecting a real rueben with at least swiss and sauerkraut.

Pirogi, biscuits and gravy and pancakes were all really good.
Great tasting breakfast at lunch.
Very clean facility.
Recommend you give this a try.

Super cute and warm place to grab a bite. Staff is super friendly and helpful. The place is near the train station and when the train from Blue Ridge arrives, the place gets crazy busy. I recommend going early in the morning to avoid wait line.

Good food, fair prices and fast service. When getting off the train cross the street and go left

We are so grateful to have found Katz'a deli. We have had such a wonderful dining experience there, particularly the corned beed hash (as native New Yorkers we appreciated the authenticity of freshness of their corned beef hash). Nancy and her team are all very kind and friendly and accommodated our large family nicely. We returned almost daily to pick up breakfast. Highly recommend.

Not impressed at all. The prices are crazy for what you get. I had the Reuben and it had very little meat on it. And for $15.00? NO way. They were also out of virtually all breakfast items at 11 am?? If your gonna run a Jewish Deli? Here's a hint. Go to NYC and learn how to do it right, cause you are WAY off the mark! This place will somehow mysteriously survive (weekly influx of dumb tourists). Finally, the lady running this joint (the loud blond) was more interested in being the social Butterfly. rather than doing her job. I'd give this zero stars if it were an option.

Perfect little lunch stop when riding the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway! Highly recommend the Reuben.

Experienced Katz's for the first time yesterday. The food was excellent! They weren't fully staffed, and a large crowd arrived due to a tourist filled train stopping in town. I was surprised two sandwiches, one fabulous coffee and a water was $38.00. Today I checked the online prices of our order. My menu prices bbq sandwich should have been $9.95, yet I was charged $14.00 yesterday. I understand food prices have increased, so please update the online menu prices. A forty percent price difference is a lot.

found hair in my food and the tomato soup tastes straight out the can. The Ruben tastes good but is hard to chew. BAD customer service. Prices not worth it.
