Happy Me

Very friendly staff, and the restaurant offers board games to play, along with sanitizing wipes. Beautiful patio seating, as well as plenty of room indoors. The Buffalo chicken quesadilla was stuffed with cheese and tasty, but I had to open it to verify there was actually any chicken. The side veggies consisted of one tiny piece of lettuce, about 6 pieces of diced red onion, and about a teaspoon or less of diced tomatoes, so it was garnish, not a side. A random homeless guy (one of at least 6 I saw) was walking around screaming at no one in particular, and after I accidentally made eye contact with him, he started wandering my way, so I left without finishing my food. I wasn't about to have a pointless, unpleasant encounter with an angry and presumably mentally ill man after a long day at work. So sad he isn't receiving treatment. Sketchy vibe, and I'm surprised the city ignores it so entirely.

The coffee and food are subpar as well as overpriced. Not to mention the staff is rude. Nice location and can be a good environment to do work, however, the overall quality has gotten much worse over the years.

Excellent atmosphere and food. I got a large sweet tea and lox bagel. I highly recommend Maude's for anyone looking for a really cool place

Atmosphere super cute. Gagged on the iced coffee. Threw it away. Whom ever made it along with the syrup sweet tea...please read how to follow recipes. Avacado toast on the salty side but I ate it.

The quality of service/food/drink varies greatly with whoever is on staff.
The good:
Hot and fresh croissant with bacon, egg, and cheese; a small iced lavender coffee - not too long of a wait, food and drink is good, prompt service.
The bad:
One person ahead of me, uncomplicated order, took forever. When it was my turn, even though it wasn't busy, the staff was rude, seemed offended that I wanted to order anything. Ordered a large lavender coffee and a muffin. I wanted a sandwich too, but they said it was gonna be a 20 minute wait on a day with two people there, not a lot of customers either. Had to return the coffee because they didn't put enough syrup in it. I watched the girl put syrup in it, stir it in with the tiniest spoon that didn't really reach the bottom of the cup (?) - and when it was returned to me, it turns out that it's the wrong syrup. She put in the lemon-lavender that they use for tea in my coffee. It tasted awful. Next time I went there, I asked her to put the lavender, not the lemon-lavender in my coffee. She got offended, and told me "[they] don't do that [here]". Oh, and the muffin I had that day - it had apples in it, and it tasted like it got left out for too long - it had a fermented, awful taste AND there was a piece of hair in it.

When it's good, it's good. When it's bad, it's pretty bad.
It's expensive for what it is, but it's downtown so I can't fault them much for that. I wish they were more consistent with their staff.

Love the atmosphere. The barista gave good recommendations. Will definitely be going back.

Food was delicious. Got two breakfast sandwiches. Maude’s coffee was splendid. Felt like the portion sizes were a bit small. A little over priced. Overall good experience.

The coffee is pretty good, the pastries also. The atmosphere is great, a little cramped when buying the food. I usually go across the street to Starbucks, honestly, because The size of the drinks that I buy are significantly smaller and more expensive here. When I order coffee I want a lot of coffee, I don’t want a small cup.

First time going to Maude’s and I wanted to like it. However, we had a bad experience with an employee there.

We sat down at a table to eat outside when a few minutes later an employee comes out and starts to be aggressive towards us. He yells at us for moving a table outside (which we did not do it was like that when we got there). He continues to be aggressive and tell us that we need to move. When I tell him that the table was like that when we got there he says “well guess you have to pay for someone else’s sins”

???? Wouldn’t have been a problem if he asked us kindly to move it. I would’ve happily agreed. Not going back

Things have gone from mediocre to poor. The coffee roast changed to burnt tire and the “service” remains surly. I’ve given them several chances making excuses and generally hoping for better… but three bad experiences in a row? The prices are dear and it’s just not better than Starbucks across the street… too bad. Another one bites the dust…
