Maude's Cafe

Amazing spot filled with staff that cares about its clientele! They made an out of Townes feel right at home! Tasty coffee and breakfast! It is refreshing to see that Florida is not what the News tells me!

The description of the sandwiches doesn't live up to what you get. Very small, ordinary and expensive! Not even a side pickle??? Or chips?? My friends said the coffee was just okay. My Stella was perfect.

When it comes to getting work done, this is the perfect place to be alone with other people. There's always a good mix of people working on computers or with notebooks or art supplies and people eating/drinking/catching up with friends, which makes the atmosphere *just* upbeat enough to stay interesting, but accommodate studying/working.

The menu here covers so many bases. The "let's grab coffee" fare like tea, brownies, and baked goods meets enough beer variety to make a casual first date spot, and some surprisingly delicious options for heartier meals makes it the kind of place where you can work from morning through dinner no sweat. My highest recommendation goes to their English Breakfast Quiche, which changed my life.
Be sure to ask what's new or good (as long as you're not holding up the line) because they change things up frequently to cater to different seasons, the weather, and new tastes. This is not the kind of place where you should get attached to your "usual" when it comes to snacks and specialty items.

If you've never done so, try to hang out in the outside patio area at night sometime. They do events like game nights on their huge projector screen, drag shows, movie screenings, etc. I didn't know about this until I happened to stay longer than usual one night, but I was so entertained.

Overall, Maude's is a great place to be pretty much always.

Sadly, prices continue to rise on coffee and there is a Starbucks like 20 feet away. But Maude's makes a good coffee drink, as well as a great vegetarian breakfast burrito (much better than Starbucks) amongst other food options. It's local, and the staff is super friendly. There's indoor and outdoor seating next to the Hippodrome. Indoors you can play boardgames or read. It's fairly quiet. At night the sidecar bar is open and they have burlesque shows pretty regularly.

Brought my family here for breakfast, how disappointing. Firstly we spent over $30 for 3 bagels/English muffins with jelly and cream cheese and one tofu wrap, bowl of old crusty tofu scramble and a small coffee. One guy was running the place so that was suspicious. The wrap was small, hotter than hot, because it was not fresh but microwaved. @The bagels were crunchy hard. The English muffins were good enough. Good enough for a student hangout I guess. One student sipping on a $3 cup of coffee taking up a whole booth cruising the net for an hour is a common thing here. I noticed we were the only ones ordering more than just a coffee. Suspicious again. Not popular for breakfast I'm guessing. Sorry but my meal sucked. Not going back.

It has a great atmosphere. It's dark and usually quiet inside if you want to go brood with a book and hide out. If you want to laze in the open air, the outdoor seating is tops. Plays a cool role in the community too with various events they host.

Wish I had taken a picture of the awesome English quiche I ate here earlier, but I was incredibly hungry. Great place to hang out with friends over coffee, tea, a savory bite or one of their fabulous desserts. They also carry locally roasted beans for purchase.

I hangout at Maude's all the time. I've never had one complaint. The food and the vibes are always on point. It's a great location to grab a coffee with friends or do some work. Today my sandwich order got lost in the shuffle, the staff immediately corrected the situation and gave me a brownie for the trouble (without me asking). Not only is the community atmosphere welcoming and inclusive, but the level of customer service is EXCELLENT and very rare. Maude's is a gem for sure.

Their online information is not consistent at all. For my wife, who uses Apple Maps, found you guys and saw that you were supposedly closed, but on my end, on Google Maps on Android, it said you were open until 8pm (Sunday). So, we decide to go, but when we arrived, we found that you were closed since 6pm.

It's important for you to have updated and accurate information online, especially on Google Maps, because that is the #1 place where your local traffic will come from.

Comfortable, relaxing, and delicious. Easy to find a spot on the patio on a Sunday morning, and it's especially pleasant on an overcast day. I got a peppermint tea and a breakfast bagel sandwich - both fresh and piping hot 👍
