Maude's Cafe

Guys their bagels are so mid and they are overpriced. Literally gave me the bagel plain and gave me philadelphia cream cheese in a container to put on myself…lets be real cmon now.

I love having a coffee at Maude's. It is a great local place with wonderful cheesecake! Support Local locations! I also suggest their gluten free brownies. They are the only place around I can find with a gluten free option.

Daughter told us about it so checked it out. Latte & coffee was great. Lots of games to play. Nice, quiet atmosphere for leisurely afternoon of reading or internet activity. Service was prompt & friendly. I highly recommend stopping by.

It's definitely a one of a kind quirky little coffee shop. The drinks are great, including all the non-coffee drinks. There's loads of board games to play while you sit either inside or outside. Seating can be pretty limited, though, depending on how busy it is.

My wife and I have come here several times and always had a great experience. With that being said something went wrong tonight. We placed our orders double shot for myself, iced caramel macchiato for the wife, and hot chocolate for the kid. While waiting 2 young ladies came in and ordered hot chocolate. The espresso came all's good taste great, then the young ladies received their hot chocolates while my wife and son where still waiting on their drinks. Finally our last 2 drinks come out. We leave, wife begins to drink her drink and it is not at all a caramel macchiato. I taste it and sure enough it taste just like the kids hot chocolate just with whip cream and some caramel syrup on it.

I like this place. Quiet, cozy, and lowkey vibe - which is exactly what I look for in a cafe. Some items are quite pricey but the iced mocha is why I go. I was not a fan of the chai however.

If there's a better coffee shop in Gainesville, I haven't found it. Excellent, fast service, high quality espresso, good WiFi that extends out onto the patio, and with outlets on the patio to plug in and get work done over coffee. There are also ashtrays on the patio for those who want to enjoy the nearby cigar shop. While the WiFi drops about once an hour, it returns after a minute, and the exceptional service and environment outshine that fact.

They have rude employees, slow service, a dumpy atmosphere, and tiny portions ($12 for a burrito smaller than my hand). My only reason for 2 stars is the patio and the flavor.

Classic Gainesville, the beat generation lives on here. Delicious dessert options, excellent espresso, hip folks behind the counter, boardgames, and courtyard seating next to the Hipp. I've got so many memories here, it's not a trip home without a trip to Maude's. Great place to while the afternoon or evening away talking philosophy and playing chess.
